What are web scraping proxies?
The IPs your scraper sends its requests through
Web scraping proxies, also searched for as a scraper proxy or a proxy for web scraping, are IP addresses your scraper sends its requests through, so the target site sees many different IPs, in the locations you choose, instead of one server hammering it. ProxyEmpire’s network has residential IPs from real home connections in 179 countries and territories, 4G mobile IPs in 174, and datacenter IPs in 61.
Sites limit how many requests a single IP can make, and many show different prices, results and content by country or city. Rotating through a large pool of residential IPs keeps each IP’s request count low, and geo-targeting lets you collect the version of a page that users in each market see. Datacenter IPs cost far less and suit sites with light protection; residential and mobile IPs are for the sites that treat server traffic with suspicion.

How to scrape successfully with proxies
Six habits for clean data and fewer blocks
Rotate per request for crawling. Use a new IP per request for search results, product pages and listings, so no single IP builds up a request history.
Stick for multi-step jobs. Use a sticky session for logins, carts and pagination that needs cookies. Sticky sessions have no fixed time limit: the IP stays until you rotate it or the device behind it goes offline, and a custom session length gives you a set window.
Target the location you need. Prices, stock and search results change by country and city. Set the location in the proxy username or through the API, rather than scraping from wherever your servers happen to be.
Pace and respect the site. Spread requests over time, honour rate limits and robots.txt, and cache what you already have. Polite scrapers get blocked far less.
Render JavaScript where you must. For pages that build content in the browser, run a headless browser such as Puppeteer or Playwright through the proxy; for everything else, plain HTTP requests are faster and use less bandwidth.
Know what’s blocked. Financial, government and other high-risk sites, such as payment providers, banks and crypto exchanges, are blocked on all ProxyEmpire proxies, and only ports 80 and 443 are open by default. Specific exceptions are possible after KYC and a use-case review.
Collect public data only, and follow each site’s terms and the privacy laws that apply to you, such as the GDPR and the CCPA. ProxyEmpire doesn’t support collecting private or personal data without a lawful basis, or any illegal activity.
