Spain at a glance
Why a local IP changes what you see
Spain is the fourth-largest economy in the European Union and one of the world’s biggest tourism markets. Search results on Google.es, prices on El Corte InglΓ©s, listings on Idealista and the ads served to Spanish users all depend on where the request comes from. Spain is also unusually location-sensitive inside its own borders: the Canary Islands sit outside the EU VAT area and charge IGIC at a much lower standard rate, so a shop’s Canary prices genuinely differ from its Madrid prices.
Spanish sites also check what kind of network a visitor is on. On well-protected sites, traffic from a data centre gets flagged as a bot straight away. Traffic from a Movistar or Orange home connection looks like an ordinary Spanish customer, because that is what it is.
| Fact | Figure | Why it matters for proxy work |
|---|---|---|
| Population | 49.57 million (1 January 2026) | A deep pool spread over 19 regions, so city and ISP targeting samples real regional differences. |
| Currency | Euro (notes and coins since 2002) | Spanish shops set euro prices separately from French or German ones, so a local IP reveals the real Spanish price. |
| Sales tax | 21% VAT; 7% IGIC in the Canaries | The Canaries, Ceuta and Melilla sit outside the EU VAT area, so the same product can carry a different shelf price. |
| Tourism | 96.8 million foreign visitors (2025) | Travel and hotel prices are heavily tuned to the visitor’s apparent country, which makes Spain a prime target for travel price research. |
| Language | Spanish, plus co-official Catalan, Valencian, Galician and Basque | Regional sites and SERPs switch language by location, so a Barcelona IP and a Seville IP can return different pages. |
| EU member | Since 1986 | GDPR applies, and EU geo-restricted content treats Spanish IPs as fully European. |

What our Spain coverage actually reaches
Read from the live API, not a brochure
Most providers list Spain as a single country checkbox. Here you can pin a session to the region, city and network your target cares about, using the same API our dashboard reads.
All 17 autonomous communities, plus Ceuta and Melilla
That is every autonomous community and both autonomous cities. The Canaries and the Balearics are worth targeting on their own: separate tax and logistics territories, where prices and delivery charges routinely differ from the mainland.
693 targetable cities and towns
Coverage goes far beyond Madrid and Barcelona. Provincial capitals, coastal resorts, island towns and commuter suburbs can each be targeted separately. The 72 best-known:
Resort towns like Benidorm, Salou, Maspalomas and Ibiza Town can each be targeted separately, as can island capitals such as Arrecife and MahΓ³n β which matters for travel and hotel price checks.
Mobile carriers
That is eight distinct operators across Spain’s four national mobile networks. Movistar is TelefΓ³nica’s consumer brand; the API lists its dynamic and static ranges separately, so it counts once here. Orange and Yoigo have both been MasOrange brands since the 2024 Orange EspaΓ±aβMΓ‘sMΓ³vil merger: separate brands, one operator group. Vodafone Spain has been owned by Zegona since May 2024 and still trades as Vodafone. Digi holds its own spectrum and is building its own network while roaming on TelefΓ³nica’s. Avatel, Aire Networks and Procono are smaller operators and MVNOs.
Fixed-line ISPs
All the national broadband networks are covered β Movistar, Orange, Vodafone including the former ONO cable network, Jazztel, MΓ‘sMΓ³vil, Yoigo and Digi β alongside the MasOrange regional brands Euskaltel, R and Telecable. Beyond them sit more than 125 alternative fibre and cable operators, including Adamo, Avatel, Estabanell, Olivenet, Lyntia, Granacable, Fibwi and Ib-red in the Balearics and Cablemel in Melilla, plus Starlink satellite connections.
Why the long tail matters. Anti-bot systems look at which network a request comes from, and a pool built from three or four big carriers is easy to spot. Small networks too β a fibre operator in Granada, a cable company in the Balearics β are what make your traffic look like ordinary Spanish households.

Free Spain proxy lists vs paid Spanish proxies
Why free lists rarely work on Spanish sites
Free Spain proxy lists are easy to find, but most entries are open servers already scanned and abused by thousands of other users. They go offline within hours and are usually blacklisted by the Spanish sites you want to reach.
| Free Spain proxy lists | ProxyEmpire Spanish proxies | |
|---|---|---|
| IP source | Open or hijacked servers, mostly data centres | Real Spanish homes and Movistar, Orange, Vodafone and Digi SIM cards |
| Uptime | Minutes to hours before an IP disappears | Always-on pool, with rotating, sticky or static IPs |
| Blocks | Usually blacklisted on major Spanish sites | Looks like an ordinary local visitor |
| Targeting | Country at best | Region, city, ZIP, ISP, ASN and OS fingerprint |
| Security | Unknown operator can log or alter your traffic | Authenticated access over HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 |
| Cost | Free | From $1.50/GB, with a $1.97 trial |

Spain proxy FAQ
Straight answers
What is a Spanish proxy (ES proxy)?
A Spanish proxy, or ES proxy, gives you a Spanish IP address so websites treat you as a local visitor. A Spain residential proxy goes further: it routes your traffic through a real Spanish household’s connection, so sites see a genuine local visitor on a network like Movistar or Orange instead of a data centre.
Can I target specific Spanish cities or ISPs?
Yes. You can target all 17 autonomous communities plus Ceuta and Melilla, 693 cities and towns, and more than 125 local ISPs, including Movistar, Orange, Vodafone and Digi. Residential and mobile proxies can also be targeted by ZIP code, ASN and OS fingerprint. Datacenter and static residential proxies are targeted at country level.
Do you offer Spanish mobile proxies?
Yes, on Movistar, Orange, Yoigo, Vodafone and Digi, plus smaller operators such as Avatel, Aire Networks and Procono. Mobile IPs are shared by many real subscribers, which makes them among the hardest IPs for websites to block.
Do you have Spanish datacenter proxies?
Yes. Rotating datacenter proxies with Spanish IPs start at $25 for 40 GB and go down to $0.35/GB on larger plans. They are targeted at country level and suit high-volume work on lightly protected sites. For well-protected sites, use residential or mobile IPs.
How much do Spain proxies cost?
Rotating residential starts at $1.50/GB on larger plans, rotating mobile at $2.00/GB and rotating datacenter at $0.35/GB. Static residential IPs cost $3.50 for a single IP and go down to $2.00 per IP a month at 2,000 IPs. Spanish targeting is included at no extra charge.
Can I keep the same Spanish IP?
Yes, in two ways. Rotating residential, mobile and datacenter proxies all support sticky sessions, which hold the same Spanish IP across requests. If you need a permanently fixed IP, static residential gives you a dedicated Spanish residential IP for the whole month, traffic included.
Which protocols and tools are supported?
HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5. The proxies work with any scraper, headless browser, anti-detect browser or HTTP library, and there is no limit on concurrent sessions.
Is there real support if something breaks?
Yes. Support is staffed by real people 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which is not the norm in this industry. If a Spanish target starts blocking you at three in the morning, someone is there to look at it with you.
Why not use a free Spain proxy?
Free proxies are slow, blocked on most major sites, and often run by operators who log or resell your traffic. For anything work-related, a paid residential proxy is safer and far more reliable.
Is using a proxy legal in Spain?
Proxies themselves are legal in Spain and across the EU. What matters is how you use them: respect websites’ terms of service and GDPR when collecting personal data.
