Intro. What if you could just ask your AI assistant for proxies? Ten sticky German mobile IPs, a check of which cities have the most residential IPs online, or the reason a proxy keeps returning error 407. With the ProxyEmpire MCP server, you can. In this video you'll see what it does, how to connect it in about a minute, and four real things to ask it.
What MCP is. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use an online service on your behalf, with your approval. ProxyEmpire has a built-in MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any other MCP client can work with your proxy account directly. No copying credentials, no building usernames by hand.
Connect it in a minute. In your AI app, add a custom connector with the server URL, panel.proxyempire.io/mcp. Choose Connect, sign in to your ProxyEmpire account, and approve. That's it: no token needed. Command-line tools like Claude Code skip the sign-in and use a personal access token from your dashboard instead. To check it works, ask for your proxy balances.
Ask for proxies. Now ask for what you need. "Give me ten sticky German mobile proxies for thirty minutes." The agent returns ten ready-to-use connection strings on German carrier IPs, each holding its IP for thirty minutes. You can target by country, region, city, ISP, network or ZIP code, choose rotating or sticky sessions, and get up to a hundred strings at once, in the format your tool expects.
Check coverage first. Before a big job, check where the pool is deepest. "Which US cities have the most residential IPs online?" The agent lists cities with live counts, refreshed every thirty minutes. You can ask the same about ISPs, networks and ZIP codes, so you only target places that have IPs.
Fix a 407. When a proxy stops working, ask why. "My proxy returns 407." One check looks at your package, your credentials, the bandwidth you have left and the health of the pool, and ends with a verdict, so you know whether to top up, fix a login or pick another location.
Watch your bandwidth. And keep an eye on spend. "Where did my bandwidth go this week?" The agent reads your daily usage and the sites that used the most traffic. Ask what ten more gigabytes would cost, and it gives you the price and a link to the Top Up page.
Safe by design. Access is read-only. A connected assistant can read your balances and build proxy strings, but it can't change your account, it can never make a payment, and it never sees your API tokens. You can revoke it at any time in your dashboard.
Try it yourself. The MCP server is free for every ProxyEmpire customer. The setup guide and the full list of tools are on our MCP server page, and if you're new, the $1.97 trial gives you 100 megabytes of residential and 50 megabytes of mobile data that never expires. The links are in the description. Thanks for watching.
What the ProxyEmpire MCP server does
Your proxy account, inside your AI assistant
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use an online service on your behalf, with your approval. The ProxyEmpire MCP server connects your assistant to your proxy account, so instead of opening the dashboard, copying credentials and building usernames by hand, you ask a question and get an answer or a working proxy list back.
- Generate proxy lists. Up to 100 ready-to-use strings per request, with country, region, city, ISP, ASN, ZIP and OS targeting, rotating or sticky.
- Check coverage before you run a job. See which countries, cities, ISPs, networks (ASNs) and ZIP codes have IPs online, with live counts.
- Fix connection problems. One question checks your package, credentials, remaining bandwidth and the health of the pool behind a “407” or a dead proxy.
- Keep an eye on spend. Read your balance, daily usage for the last 30 days, the sites that used your bandwidth, your orders and your sub-users.
It manages your proxies; it doesn’t browse the web for you. When your agent or your code fetches pages, it does that through the proxies the MCP server gives it.
Connect your AI agent in three steps
About a minute, no token to copy
- Add the serverIn your AI app, add a custom connector (MCP server) with the URL https://panel.proxyempire.io
/mcp. - Sign in and approveChoose Connect, sign in to your ProxyEmpire account and approve the request.
- Ask a first questionFor example: “Check my ProxyEmpire balances.” If you get your bandwidth back, it works.
The setup page in your dashboard, Settings → AI Agents (MCP), has the same steps and lists every app you’ve connected.
Setup notes for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code
The same server URL in every app
claude.ai and Claude Desktop. Add the URL as a custom connector under Settings → Connectors, then approve the sign-in when Claude asks.
ChatGPT. Add the URL as a custom connector (MCP server), where your ChatGPT plan offers custom connectors, and approve the ProxyEmpire sign-in.
Cursor. Add an MCP server with the URL in Cursor’s settings, or in your mcp.json, then approve the sign-in in your browser:
{
"mcpServers": {
"proxyempire": {
"url": "https://panel.proxyempire.io/mcp"
}
}
}
Claude Code and other command-line clients. These skip the browser sign-in. Create a personal access token in your dashboard under Settings → API Tokens and send it as a Bearer header:
claude mcp add --transport http proxyempire https://panel.proxyempire.io/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_TOKEN"
A token connection has the token’s own abilities, including sub-user management, so treat it like a password. Any other client that speaks MCP over streamable HTTP works too, with the browser sign-in or a Bearer token.
What you can ask your agent
Plain questions, real answers from your account
“Give me 10 sticky German mobile proxies for 30 minutes”
The agent returns ten connection strings on 4G/5G carrier IPs in Germany, each holding its IP for 30 minutes, in the format your tool expects.
“Which US cities have the most residential IPs online?”
It lists cities with the approximate number of online IPs, refreshed every 30 minutes, so you can target where the pool is deepest.
“Do you have IPs on Comcast in ZIP 90210?”
It checks networks (ASNs) and ZIP codes for residential and mobile proxies before you build a list on them.
“My proxy returns 407. Why?”
One check covers your package, credentials, remaining bandwidth and the pool for that country, and ends with a verdict.
“Where did my bandwidth go this week?”
It reads your daily usage and the top sites by traffic, for your account or for one of your sub-users.
“How much would 10 GB of residential cost?”
It prices the top-up and gives you a link to the Top Up page with that size selected. You pay in the dashboard yourself.
A generated list looks like this, with your own username and password in place of the placeholders:
v2.proxyempire.io:5000:USERNAME-country-de-sid-53aec6a02fee-ttl-30m:PASSWORD
v2.proxyempire.io:5000:USERNAME-country-de-sid-484ded66207c-ttl-30m:PASSWORD
Ask for user:pass@host:port or http:// URLs instead if your scraper or browser profile wants them. The same strings work over SOCKS5: see SOCKS5 proxies.
The 11 MCP tools
What your agent can call
| Tool | What it answers |
|---|---|
| get_account | Your proxy credentials and live bandwidth (total, used, left) for each product. |
| check_availability | Countries, regions, cities, ISPs, ASNs and ZIP codes you can target, with online-IP counts for residential and mobile, plus the pool’s health. |
| generate_proxy_list | Up to 100 connection strings with your targeting and session settings, in three formats. |
| diagnose_connection | “My proxy stopped working” and 407 errors: package, credentials, bandwidth and pool health in one check. |
| rotate_session | A fresh sticky session when an IP goes bad mid-run, for residential, mobile and datacenter proxies. |
| get_bandwidth_usage | Daily usage for the last 30 days. |
| get_top_domains | The sites that used your bandwidth, for any range in the last 180 days. |
| list_orders | Your orders with status and payment time, for “I paid but nothing arrived”. |
| quote_topup | The price of a 1 to 50 GB top-up and a link to pay for it in the dashboard. |
| list_subusers | Your sub-users and their bandwidth per product. |
| get_subuser | One sub-user’s credentials and bandwidth. |
Proxy lists cover rotating residential, rotating mobile, rotating datacenter and the ISP proxies on your account. Residential and mobile lists take every targeting option, datacenter lists take a country, and ISP lists return one string per IP you own. Sticky sessions can keep their IP as long as the session lasts, or for a set 1 to 120 minutes.
Safe by design
What a connected agent can’t do
- Read-only. A connected app can see your balances, usage and proxy settings, but it can’t change your account.
- No payments. An agent can price a top-up, but only you can pay, in the dashboard.
- No API tokens. The agent never sees your API tokens. It does see your proxy username and password, because it builds connection strings with them.
- Revoke any time. Every connected app is listed under Settings → AI Agents (MCP). Revoking one signs it out at once, and approvals expire after 30 days.
Only connect assistants you trust, and treat generated proxy strings like passwords. To share access with a team, give each person a sub-user instead of your main login.
Proxies to use with the MCP server
The MCP server is free with every plan
The MCP server works with the proxies on your account. Start with the $1.97 trial (100 MB of residential and 50 MB of mobile data that never expires), pay as you go from a single GB, or take a larger plan for as little as $1.50/GB. Targeting by country, city, ZIP, ISP, ASN and OS costs nothing extra, and unused bandwidth rolls over.
| Plan | Data | Price per GB | Total | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pay As You Go | 1 GB | $3.50 | Buy | |
| Starter | 7 GB | $20 | Buy | |
| Hobby | 28 GB | $75 | Buy | |
| Startup | 60 GB | $150 | Buy | |
| Business | 135 GB | $300 | Buy | |
| Company — best value | 315 GB | $625 | Buy | |
| Corporation | 500 GB | $875 | Buy | |
| Enterprise | 1,000 GB | $1,500 | Buy | |
| Custom | 5 TB+ | From $0.75 | — | Contact us |
Discounted prices use code EMPIRE50 (limited time, rotating residential and mobile only). Rotating mobile starts at $4.50 for 1 GB and goes down to $2.00/GB on larger plans. Static residential costs $3.50 for a single IP, down to $2.00 per IP a month on larger bundles. All mobile, static and datacenter plans are on the full pricing page.
ProxyEmpire MCP server FAQ
Straight answers
Is the ProxyEmpire MCP server free?
Yes. Every ProxyEmpire customer can use it at no extra cost. You only pay for the proxies themselves.
Which AI apps can I connect?
Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude Code), ChatGPT, Cursor, and any other client that supports MCP over streamable HTTP. The server URL is https://panel.proxyempire.io/mcp in every app.
Do I need an API token?
Not in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor: you sign in to ProxyEmpire and approve the connection. Command-line clients such as Claude Code use a personal access token from Settings → API Tokens, sent as a Bearer header.
Can my AI agent change my account or spend money?
No. A connected app has read-only access and can never make payments. It can price a top-up and give you a link, but you pay in the dashboard yourself.
Can the agent see my proxy password?
Yes, because it builds proxy strings with your proxy username and password. It never sees your API tokens. You can revoke an app at any time under Settings → AI Agents (MCP).
Which proxy types does it work with?
It generates lists for rotating residential, rotating mobile, rotating datacenter and ISP proxies, and reads availability and usage for unlimited residential too. Dedicated mobile devices are managed in the dashboard.
Does the MCP server scrape websites for me?
No. It manages your proxy account: lists, targeting, usage and troubleshooting. Your agent, browser or scraper then fetches pages through the proxies it gives you.
How long does a connection last?
An approval lasts 30 days. After that your AI app asks you to sign in and approve again. You can revoke it earlier at any time.
Is there an API as well?
Yes. The same features are in the ProxyEmpire API, with a Bearer token from your dashboard. See the API documentation.
