Three ways to get an Indian IP
Rotating residential
Home broadband IPs across India, from the big metros to tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Best for scraping, price monitoring and SERP tracking.
- State, city, ZIP, ISP and ASN targeting
- New IP per request or sticky sessions
- OS fingerprint targeting (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android)
Rotating mobile
Mobile IPs on Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL. Best for social media, app testing and the strictest anti-bot systems.
- State, city, ZIP, carrier and ASN targeting
- OS fingerprint targeting
- Rotate on demand or keep a sticky session
Rotating datacenter
Fast, low-cost Indian datacenter IPs. Best for high-volume jobs on sites with light bot protection.
- India country-level targeting
- New IP per request or sticky sessions
- Lowest cost per GB for bulk traffic
- Plans from 40 GB for $25
Need the same IP for weeks at a time? Static residential proxies are not offered in India. The nearest static location is Singapore, or use sticky sessions to hold the same Indian IP on any of the three proxy types above.
India at a glance
Why a local IP changes what you see
India is not one market but dozens. Search results on Google.co.in, prices and delivery dates on Flipkart and Amazon.in, and the ads served to Indian users all depend on where a request comes from, often down to the state and language. A visitor in Chennai and one in Lucknow can see different offers on the same site.
India is also overwhelmingly mobile. TRAI counts about 1.09 billion broadband subscriptions, and only around 48 million of them are wired; the rest are phones and wireless links on Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL. To an Indian website, a phone on Jio or Airtel is simply the most ordinary visitor there is.
Indian sites also check the network. On well-protected sites, data-centre traffic is flagged as a bot straight away, while an Airtel or ACT Fibernet home connection looks like an ordinary Indian customer, because that is what it is.
| Fact | Figure | Why it matters for proxy work |
|---|---|---|
| Population | 1.21 billion at the 2011 Census, the latest completed count (the next is in February 2027) | A huge, uneven market, so state and city targeting matters more than the national total. |
| States & union territories | 28 states, 8 union territories | Our region targeting uses the same units, so you can see a page as a visitor in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu or West Bengal sees it. |
| Currency | Indian rupee (INR, โน), issued by the Reserve Bank of India | Prices, delivery charges and bank offers are shown in rupees to Indian visitors, so they have to be read on the Indian version of a site. |
| Digital payments | UPI: 24.51 billion transactions in August 2026 | Indian checkout pages are built around UPI, so payment and checkout flows are best tested from an Indian session. |
| Languages | Hindi and English at Union level; 22 languages in the Constitution’s Eighth Schedule | Google.co.in and many Indian apps offer Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and other language versions, so results differ by region and language. |
| Mobile networks | Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL; Jio and Airtel hold about 77% of mobile subscriptions | We reach all four operators, so mobile sessions match the networks Indians actually use. |

What our India coverage actually reaches
Read from the live API, not a brochure
Most providers list India as a single country checkbox. Here you can pin a session to the state, city and network your target cares about. This is the targeting on the ProxyEmpire network today, from the same API our dashboard uses.
All 28 states and 7 union territories
The API returns 35 regions: every one of India’s 28 states and seven of its eight union territories, including Delhi, Chandigarh and Puducherry.
466 targetable cities and towns
Coverage runs far beyond the metros. Here are 72 of the best-known locations, including satellite cities such as Gurugram, Noida and Navi Mumbai; the other 394 range from district headquarters to hill stations, and each can be targeted on its own:
Mobile carriers
These are India’s four mobile network operators, and all four are in our mobile pool. MTNL, the small state operator in Delhi and Mumbai, is not a separate option; BSNL has run its mobile network since 2021.
Fixed-line ISPs
The big national networks are covered: Jio, Airtel, BSNL, ACT Fibernet, Hathway, Excitel and Tata Play Fiber. So are regional providers such as Asianet and Kerala Vision in Kerala, GTPL in Gujarat, Meghbela and Alliance Broadband in West Bengal, Netplus in Punjab and AP FiberNet in Andhra Pradesh. Hundreds of smaller local operators make up the rest: more than 400 separate networks in total.
Why the long tail matters. Indian home broadband is highly fragmented, with a local cable or fibre operator in almost every town. A pool built on two or three national providers is easy to spot; IPs spread across hundreds of local networks look like ordinary Indian households.
What teams use Indian proxies for
Common workloads on our Indian network
E-commerce price monitoring
Track prices, stock, delivery dates and bank offers on Flipkart, Amazon.in, Myntra and Nykaa exactly as Indian shoppers see them, in rupees and city by city.
Local SEO & SERP tracking
Check Google.co.in rankings, map packs and ads from Mumbai, Delhi or Chennai, in Hindi or English, not from one generic location.
Property & jobs data
Collect listings from MagicBricks, 99acres and Naukri to follow rents, house prices and hiring demand city by city.
Ad verification & localisation
Confirm that campaigns aimed at India render on the placements you paid for, and that Hindi, Tamil or Bengali ads and landing pages display correctly.
Social media & app testing
Run Indian accounts and test apps from mobile IPs on Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL, so sessions look like a local phone rather than a server.
Travel & fare pricing
Compare flight and hotel prices on MakeMyTrip and airline sites as they appear to travellers in different Indian cities and abroad.
India residential proxy pricing
Rotating residential โ all Indian targeting included

Free India proxy lists vs paid Indian proxies
Why free lists rarely work on Indian sites
Free India proxy lists are easy to find, but most entries are open servers already abused by thousands of users. They go offline within hours and are blacklisted by the Indian sites you want to reach.
| Free India proxy lists | ProxyEmpire Indian proxies | |
|---|---|---|
| IP source | Open or hijacked servers, mostly data centres | Real Indian homes and Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL SIM cards |
| Uptime | Minutes to hours before an IP disappears | Always-on pool, with rotating or sticky sessions |
| Blocks | Usually blacklisted on major Indian sites | Looks like an ordinary local visitor |
| Targeting | Country at best | State, city, ZIP, ISP, ASN and OS fingerprint |
| Security | Unknown operator can log or alter your traffic | Authenticated access over HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 |
| Cost | Free | From $1.50/GB, with a $1.97 trial |

India proxy FAQ
Straight answers
What is an Indian proxy, and what makes it residential?
An Indian proxy gives you an Indian IP address, so websites treat you as a visitor from India. An India residential proxy goes one step further: it routes your traffic through a real Indian household’s internet connection, on a network like Airtel, Jio or ACT Fibernet, instead of a data centre. That makes it far less likely to be blocked.
Can I target specific Indian states, cities or ISPs?
Yes. You can target all 28 states and seven union territories, 466 cities and towns, and more than 400 local ISPs, from Jio, Airtel and BSNL to regional cable and fibre networks. Indian residential proxies and mobile proxies can also be targeted by ZIP code, ASN and OS fingerprint. Datacenter proxies are targeted at country level.
Do you offer Indian mobile proxies?
Yes. Rotating mobile proxies are available on all four Indian mobile operators: Jio, Airtel, Vi (Vodafone Idea) and BSNL. Mobile IPs are shared by many real subscribers, which makes them among the hardest IPs for websites to block.
Do you have Indian datacenter proxies?
Yes. Rotating datacenter proxies with Indian IPs start at $25 for 40 GB and go down to $0.35/GB. They are targeted at country level and suit high-volume work on lightly protected sites; for well-protected sites, use residential or mobile IPs.
How much do India proxies cost?
Rotating residential starts at $1.50/GB on larger plans, rotating mobile at $2.00/GB and rotating datacenter at $0.35/GB. Indian targeting is included at no extra charge, and you can start with a $1.97 trial.
Can I keep the same Indian IP?
Yes. Rotating residential, mobile and datacenter proxies all support sticky sessions, which keep the same Indian IP across requests instead of switching on every request. Static residential IPs are not offered in India; if you need a permanently fixed IP in the region, our nearest static location is Singapore.
Which protocols and tools are supported?
HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5. The proxies work with any scraper, headless browser, anti-detect browser or HTTP library, and there is no limit on concurrent sessions.
Why not use a free India proxy?
Free proxies are slow, blocked on most major sites, and often run by operators who log or resell your traffic. For anything work-related, a paid residential proxy is safer and far more reliable.
Can I use proxies for business in India?
Yes. Proxies are a standard tool for price monitoring, SEO and ad verification in India. What matters is how you use them: respect websites’ terms of service, and follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 whenever you collect personal data.
