Why an Armenian IP address matters

The problem a local IP solves

Armenia is a small market that behaves like a much larger one online. Four in five people are connected, and there are more active mobile connections than there are citizens. That combination — high penetration, mobile-first behaviour, a compact geography — means Armenian websites, banks, marketplaces and streaming services increasingly tailor what they show based on where the request comes from.

If you request an Armenian page from a server in Frankfurt or Virginia, you rarely see what an Armenian user sees. You may get a redirect to an international version, a different currency, a different product catalogue, a consent wall built for another jurisdiction, or nothing at all. Worse, you may get a page that looks correct but quietly differs in the details that matter to you: price, stock, ranking position, advertisement.

A residential proxy solves this by routing your request through a real household connection inside Armenia, on a real Armenian ISP. To the destination site, the traffic is indistinguishable from a local visitor, because it is one — the IP belongs to a consumer line in Yerevan or Gyumri, not a data centre.

Metric Figure Why it matters for proxy work
Population 2.95 million Small pool of consumer IPs nationally, so provider coverage varies far more than in large markets.
Internet users 2.36 million The realistic ceiling on residential IP availability in the country.
Internet penetration 80.0% High enough that geo-tailored content is worth serving, so geo-blocking is common.
Mobile connections 4.08 million (138% of population) Mobile-first market — carrier IPs often see different content and lighter blocking than fixed lines.

What our Armenian coverage actually reaches

Read from the live API, not a brochure

Most providers publish a country list and stop there. That is not useful when your target is a bank that only serves Yerevan customers, or a retailer that prices differently in Gyumri. Below is the targeting actually available on the ProxyEmpire network in Armenia, pulled from the same API our dashboard uses.

Mobile carriers

  • Telecom Armenia OJSC
  • Ucom

Why ISP targeting is the useful part. Anti-bot systems increasingly score the ASN behind a request, not just the country. Traffic that arrives on a carrier or a large consumer ISP is treated very differently from traffic on a hosting ASN. Being able to pin a session to Ucom or Telecom Armenia is what makes a request look ordinary.

Which proxy type fits which job

Choosing correctly the first time

Type Best for in Armenia Trade-off
Rotating residential Price monitoring, SERP checks, catalogue scraping at volume A new IP per request or per session; not suitable where a login must persist.
Rotating mobile Social platforms, app testing, anything that scores mobile carriers favourably Smaller pool — Armenia has two carriers — and higher cost per GB.
Static residential Account management, long sessions, anything needing a stable identity The same IP every time, so it accumulates history, good and bad.
Rotating datacenter High-volume requests against targets that do not check ASN reputation Cheapest and fastest, but trivially detectable as non-residential.

What people actually use Armenian proxies for

Real work, not theory

Use case Why a local IP is required
Price and stock monitoring Armenian retailers show local currency, local availability and local promotions. A foreign IP frequently sees an international catalogue or a different price.
Search result verification Search engines localise heavily. Checking where you rank in Armenia requires querying from Armenia, and ideally from more than one city.
Advertisement verification Campaigns targeted at Armenian users are only visible from Armenian IPs. This is the standard way to confirm placement and catch affiliate fraud.
Streaming and content availability Licensing is country-scoped. Confirming what an Armenian subscriber can actually watch needs an Armenian connection.
Application and site testing Latency, CDN edge selection and consent flows all differ by country. Testing from Yerevan surfaces problems a London test never will.
Brand and counterfeit protection Sellers often show infringing listings only to local buyers. See more use cases and supported targets.

Getting started

Three steps

Every plan reaches the same network; the plan only sets how much bandwidth you have. Start on the trial, confirm Armenia behaves the way your target needs, then scale.

Step Action Detail
1 Take the trial A gigabyte for $1.97 is enough to test Armenia against your real target before committing.
2 Build your credentials Your dashboard generates the username string that carries the country, city, ISP and session parameters. The gateway is v2.proxyempire.io:5000.
3 Verify before you scale Run a handful of requests through our free proxy checker to confirm country, ISP and anonymity level, then raise volume.

Never paste credentials into a page, a repository or a support ticket. Rotate them from the dashboard if they are ever exposed, and keep separate credentials per project so one leak does not cost you everything.

Plans and pricing

Same network on every tier

Plan Bandwidth List price per GB
Trial 1 GB $1.97 flat
Starter 7 GB $5.71
Hobby 28 GB $5.36
Startup 60 GB $5.00
Business 135 GB $4.44
Company 315 GB $3.97
Corporation 500 GB $3.50
Enterprise 1 000 GB $3.00

List prices as published on 1 September 2026. Promotional rates are often lower — see the current pricing page. Unused bandwidth rolls over rather than expiring at month end.

Getting good results in Armenia

Practical notes

Match the session to the task

Rotating sessions suit stateless work — fetch, parse, discard. The moment a task involves a login, a basket or a multi-step form, switch to a sticky session or a static IP. Rotating mid-flow is the single most common reason an otherwise correct scraper starts failing.

Pin the ISP when the target is picky

If a target treats your traffic as suspicious despite a correct country, narrow to a specific ISP or carrier. In a market this size the difference between a small regional ISP and a national carrier is very visible to anti-bot scoring.

Respect the pool size

Armenia has roughly 2.36 million internet users nationally. No provider — us included — has an unlimited supply of Armenian residential IPs. Concurrency that would be unremarkable in Germany or the United States can exhaust a small country pool and push your success rate down. Ramp gradually and watch the error rate rather than assuming a plateau.

Test from more than one city

Yerevan holds a large share of the country’s connections, so it is tempting to test only there. If your target serves regional content, sample Gyumri or Vanadzor as well before concluding your results are representative.

Common problems and what causes them

Symptom Usual cause
Sudden drop in success rate Concurrency raised past what the local pool supports, or the target tightened its rules. Reduce threads first, then investigate.
Logged out mid-session A rotating session changed IP between requests. Use a sticky session or a static residential IP.
Correct country, still blocked The target is scoring the ASN, not the country. Pin to a specific ISP or switch to mobile.
Wrong language or currency The site is reading browser headers, not only the IP. Set an Armenian Accept-Language alongside the proxy.
Slower than expected Residential routes traverse a consumer line. If raw speed matters more than authenticity, test datacenter proxies for that specific job.

Frequently asked questions

Are Armenia residential proxies legal to use?

Using a proxy is lawful in Armenia and in most jurisdictions. What matters is what you do through it: respect the terms of the sites you visit, applicable data-protection law, and any contract you are bound by. We approve use cases before granting access, and we decline the ones that are not defensible.

How many Armenian IP addresses do you have?

We do not publish a pool figure for a single country, because an honest number changes hour to hour as peers connect and disconnect. What we do publish is what you can actually target — 10 regions, 16 cities, 22 fixed-line ISPs and 2 mobile carriers as of 1 September 2026. Treat any provider quoting a precise, unchanging country IP count with caution.

Where do the IP addresses come from?

ProxyEmpire works as an aggregator: we combine supply from vetted providers rather than running a single network. Every provider must meet our sourcing standards — the people whose connections carry the traffic have opted in, are compensated, and can leave at any time. Our sourcing is certified by the Ethical Web Data Collection Initiative. More on how we source.

Can I keep the same Armenian IP for hours?

Yes. Use a sticky session for a defined window, or a static residential IP when you need the same address indefinitely — for example to keep an account logged in.

Residential or mobile for Armenian social platforms?

Mobile, in most cases. Armenia has more active mobile connections than people, so carrier traffic is the norm and is scored accordingly. The trade-off is a smaller pool, since only two carriers are available.

Do you support city-level targeting in Armenia?

Yes — 16 cities, including Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor and Vagharshapat. City targeting narrows the pool, so allow for a lower ceiling on concurrency than country-level targeting.

What happens to bandwidth I do not use?

It rolls over. Bandwidth you have paid for does not expire at the end of the month, which matters when a project pauses.

Which nearby countries do you also cover?

All four of Armenia’s neighbours are covered, plus the wider region: Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkey, along with Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Browse all locations.

Test Armenia against your own target before you commit. A gigabyte costs $1.97, and unused bandwidth rolls over.
