A Xiaohongshu proxy gives each account or research tool its own residential or mobile IP in the country you choose. Xiaohongshu, known in English as RedNote, is where Chinese shoppers look up products, reviews and travel tips, so brands, agencies, KOL teams and cross-border sellers work on it every day. Accounts are tied to phone numbers, which makes mobile IPs and a steady IP per account the things that matter most. We compared 13 providers on Chinese coverage, mobile IPs, stable sessions and price. For a ready-made setup, see ProxyEmpire’s social media proxies.

The price column shows the regular rate on the smallest residential plan, then the lowest rate published at 1 TB or less. Bright Data is shown at its current 50% discount (list $8.00 → $5.00/GB, 798 GB plan for $1,999 a month); other promotions are covered in the reviews. Checked on 25–29 September 2026.

Which proxy type is best for Xiaohongshu?
Match the IP to the job| Mobile (4G/5G) | Rotating residential | Static residential (ISP) | Datacenter | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IP comes from | A mobile carrier | A home connection | An ISP, fixed to you | A server |
| Fits | App accounts on a phone | Research and desktop accounts | One main brand account | Tools and page checks |
| Steady IP | Sticky session | Sticky session | Always the same | Same IP or rotating |
| Priced by | GB | GB | IP per month | GB or IP |
- Mobile is the first choice for accounts that live in the app. Xiaohongshu accounts are tied to phone numbers, and a carrier IP in the same country as the number looks like an ordinary phone user.
- Rotating residential with a sticky session suits market research on public posts, trend tracking and desktop work for brands and agencies.
- Static residential fits one long-running brand or seller account that signs in from the same place every day, in a country where the provider sells it.
- Datacenter is cheap and fast for checking how public pages look by region, but server IPs are a weak fit for signed-in accounts.
Whichever type you choose, give each account its own IP and keep it. Switching IPs on one account every few minutes looks less like a real user, not more. For China, ProxyEmpire’s rotating mobile proxies let you pick China Mobile, China Telecom or China Unicom per account.
What Xiaohongshu proxies cost
Mobile prices side by sideAccount work uses little data: text, images and short videos add up to far less than scraping. That makes the entry price and the trial matter more than the 1 TB rate for most teams. Here is what rotating and dedicated mobile proxies cost at the providers above.
| Provider | Rotating mobile | Dedicated mobile |
|---|---|---|
| ProxyEmpire | $4.50 → $2.00/GB | $125–$250/month |
| SOAX | $5.00 → $1.50/GB | — |
| Decodo | $4.00 → $2.75/GB | — |
| NodeMaven | $4.25 → $2.20/GB | — |
| ResiProx | $6.00 → $3.50/GB | Not sold |
| Byteful | $4.25 → $3.45/GB | — |
| Oxylabs | $7.50 → $3.50/GB | — |
| Infatica | $8.00 → $4.00/GB | — |
| Proxy-Seller | — | $109/month |
| IPRoyal | — | $130/month |
Rotating mobile runs from the smallest plan to the lowest rate published at 1 TB or less. ProxyEmpire and Decodo figures are today’s prices, 50% below list; NodeMaven’s is 20% below its regular rate. Dedicated mobile is the monthly price for one line; ProxyEmpire’s multi-country line is $125 and its USA 5G line $250. Checked 28–29 September 2026.
How to set up a proxy for Xiaohongshu
One account, one IP- Pick the location. Choose the country that matches the account’s phone number, and a Chinese region or carrier if the account is meant to look local.
- Create a sticky session. In the ProxyEmpire dashboard, set the country, city or carrier and a sticky session, then copy the username and password it generates. Residential and mobile proxies use the host v2.proxyempire.io and port 5000.
- Give each account its own profile. On desktop, run each account in its own browser profile or anti-detect browser profile with its own proxy. On a phone, use one device per account.
- Connect the phone. On Android, our free Proxy Manager app routes the Xiaohongshu app through ProxyEmpire and handles the login. See our Android proxy setup guide.
- Keep it steady. Use the same IP for an account for as long as it is active, and don’t rotate mid-session.
A proxy only changes the IP an account connects from. It doesn’t change what Xiaohongshu allows, so post real content and avoid fake engagement. Xiaohongshu’s terms and local laws apply to any account you run. For more on Chinese IPs by city and carrier, see our China proxy provider comparison.
Xiaohongshu proxy FAQ
Short answersWhat is the best proxy for Xiaohongshu?
ProxyEmpire, in our 2026 comparison: Chinese residential IPs in 30 regions and 191 cities and districts, mobile IPs on all three Chinese carriers, sticky sessions per account and a $1.97 trial.
Is Xiaohongshu the same as RedNote?
Yes. RedNote is the English name of the Xiaohongshu app, so the same proxies work for both.
Do I need a Chinese IP for Xiaohongshu?
Not always. Use a Chinese IP when the account or research should look local to China, and an IP in the account’s own country for overseas accounts. Match the IP to the phone number where you can.
Should I use mobile or residential proxies for Xiaohongshu?
Mobile for accounts that run in the phone app, since carrier IPs match how most people use Xiaohongshu. Rotating residential with a sticky session is fine for desktop work and research on public posts.
How many accounts can share one proxy?
Give each account its own IP. Several accounts on one IP can be linked to each other, so one sticky session or fixed IP per account is the safer setup.
How much data does a Xiaohongshu account use?
Browsing and posting use little data, mostly images and short videos. A few gigabytes cover many accounts; scraping public posts at scale uses far more.
Can I scrape public Xiaohongshu posts with proxies?
Rotating residential proxies spread requests across many IPs for research on public posts and trends. Collect only public data, keep request rates reasonable and follow Xiaohongshu’s terms.
Does ProxyEmpire sell static IPs in China?
No. Static residential IPs are sold in 24 other countries. For Chinese accounts, use a sticky residential or mobile session, which keeps the same IP until you rotate it or the device goes offline.
Can I use a free proxy for Xiaohongshu?
Free public proxies are shared with strangers, change daily and rarely offer Chinese mobile IPs, so they are a poor fit for real accounts. A paid trial, such as ProxyEmpire’s $1.97, is a safer way to test.
Will a proxy stop a Xiaohongshu account from being restricted?
No. A proxy gives each account its own steady connection, but Xiaohongshu still judges what the account does. We don’t support spam or fake engagement.
