A Snapchat proxy is a mobile or residential IP address that your phone or browser connects through when it opens Snapchat, so the app sees the proxy’s connection and country instead of yours. Snapchat is built for phones, which makes 4G and 5G mobile IPs the most natural fit; Snapchat’s own help centre suggests switching to mobile data when a network gets blocked. Brands and creators use one to give every account its own IP in the right country. To find the best Snapchat proxy in 2026 we compared 12 providers on mobile IPs, one IP per account, trials and price. Our pick is ProxyEmpire’s rotating mobile proxies.

How we compared Snapchat proxy providers
What a Snapchat account needs from a proxySnapchat lives on the phone, so we started with mobile IPs and what a gigabyte costs. Then we checked whether each account can keep its own IP, how precisely you can pick the location, and what a test costs.

Which proxy type works best for Snapchat?
Mobile, residential, ISP or datacenterA Snapchat proxy server is simply the machine your connection passes through; what matters is where its IP address comes from. Snapchat’s help centre says a network can be blocked after spam or other prohibited use, and suggests switching to mobile data as a fix. Carrier IPs are shared by many ordinary phone users, which is why they suit the app best.
| Mobile (4G/5G) | Residential | Static ISP | Datacenter | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IP source | Carrier networks | Home broadband | Fixed home-ISP IPs | Server ranges |
| Snapchat fit | Best for app accounts | Good for Snapchat for Web | One steady brand account | Weak for logged-in accounts |
| Session | Rotating or sticky | Rotating or sticky | Same IP all month | Rotating or sticky |
| ProxyEmpire price | $4.50 → $2.00/GB | $3.50 → $1.50/GB | $3.50 → $2.00/IP a month | $0.625 → $0.40/GB |
For most accounts, choose rotating mobile proxies with a sticky session in the account’s country. A dedicated 4G/5G line suits one busy account, rotating residential proxies are the cheaper pick for a browser, and a static residential IP (sold in 24 countries) fits a brand account used daily. One IP per Snapchat account: what a proxy can and can’t do
Keep accounts separate and steadyA proxy separates your accounts on the network. It doesn’t change the phone they run on or how they behave, and Snapchat looks at both.
- Give every account its own IP. A sticky session or a dedicated line per account keeps your accounts off a shared address.
- Keep each account in one country. Match the IP to the account’s audience.
- Mind the device. Snapchat bans devices, not only accounts: error SS07 means too many accounts have been associated with one device. A new IP doesn’t reset that.
- Skip emulators and tweaks. Snapchat lists emulators and modified apps such as Snapchat++ as unauthorized third-party apps, and using them can get an account locked on any IP.
- Share access, not passwords. A business or Snap Star Public Profile can assign roles, so teammates help manage it from their own accounts.
A proxy won’t stop locks for spam or bulk actions. Snapchat says it locks accounts for suspicious activity such as sending excessive friend requests in a short time, whatever the IP.
How to set up a proxy for Snapchat
Android, iPhone and Snapchat for WebYou need a host, port, username and password. With ProxyEmpire, mobile and residential proxies use v2.proxyempire.io on port 5000; you choose the country, carrier and a sticky session in the dashboard, then copy the login it generates.
- Android: Android’s Wi-Fi proxy setting has no username and password fields, so use an app. ProxyEmpire’s free Proxy Manager app asks for your login once, then routes Snapchat alone or the whole phone through the location you pick. Our Android proxy setup guide shows each step.
- iPhone: open Settings, then Wi-Fi, tap the info icon next to your network, then Configure Proxy and Manual. Enter the server and port, switch on Authentication and add the login. It works on that Wi-Fi network only; our iPhone proxy guide has screenshots.
- Snapchat for Web: open web.snapchat.com in Chrome or Edge and add the proxy to the browser, for example with our SwitchyOmega guide. The web version handles chats and calls; Memories, Story analytics and privacy settings still need the phone app.
Before you log in, open a “what is my IP” page on the same phone or browser: it should show the proxy’s IP and country.
Free and “unblocked” Snapchat proxies
Why we don’t publish a listSearches for a free Snapchat proxy, a “Snapchat unblocked” proxy or a Snapchat proxy list usually lead to web proxy sites or public proxy lists. A web proxy site only loads pages in its own browser tab, so it can’t carry the Snapchat app, and logging in through a stranger’s server hands them your password. Public proxies are shared by thousands of people, and Snapchat notes that a network can be blocked because of what someone else on it did. That is why we don’t publish a list. To test real mobile IPs cheaply, use a trial: ProxyEmpire costs $1.97 and Byteful offers 1 GB free. Snapchat’s terms, your school or workplace network rules and local laws apply whichever proxy you use.
Snapchat proxy FAQ
Short answersWhat is the best proxy for Snapchat?
ProxyEmpire, in our 2026 comparison: 4G/5G mobile IPs in 174 countries from $2.00/GB, residential IPs from $1.50/GB, carrier and city targeting included, and a $1.97 trial.
What is a Snapchat proxy server?
A server your phone or browser connects through, so Snapchat sees its IP address instead of yours.
Are mobile proxies better for Snapchat?
Usually, yes. Snapchat is a phone app, and 4G/5G carrier IPs are shared by many real phone users. Residential IPs cost less for Snapchat for Web.
Can I run several Snapchat accounts on one proxy?
Snapchat publishes no limit per IP, so give each account its own sticky session or dedicated line. It does limit accounts per device: error SS07 means too many accounts on one phone.
Will a proxy stop my Snapchat account from being locked?
No. A clean IP helps, but Snapchat locks accounts for spam, bulk friend requests, unauthorized apps and guideline breaches on any network.
Why does Snapchat say my network is blocked?
Snapchat’s help centre says it blocks networks, usually for a while, after suspicious activity, spam or VPN use on that IP. Standard VPNs run on datacenter IPs; ProxyEmpire’s Proxy Manager app uses residential or mobile IPs instead, which work with Snapchat.
Does a proxy change my location on Snap Map?
No. A proxy changes the IP address Snapchat sees, not the GPS location your phone shares with Snap Map when location access is on.
Can I use a proxy with Snapchat for Web?
Yes. Set the proxy in Chrome or Edge, or with an extension, then open web.snapchat.com.
Is there a free Snapchat proxy or proxy list?
Web proxy sites and public lists are free, but they can’t run the app and aren’t private. Trials such as ProxyEmpire’s $1.97 give you private mobile IPs to test.
How much data does Snapchat use through a proxy?
Chats use very little. Snaps, Stories, video calls and Spotlight videos use the most.
