Illinois IPs, from Chicago to Springfield
Illinois proxies on real home broadband and mobile connections across the Prairie State. Target Illinois as a whole or one of 548 cities and towns, from Chicago, Aurora and Naperville to Rockford, Peoria and Springfield, choose the network, and keep a sticky IP or get a new one on every request.
Pay per GB, not per IP. Illinois targeting costs nothing extra.
What you can target with an Illinois proxy
Read from our network API, metro by metro
Chicago and its suburbs dominate Illinois, but a household in Rockford, Peoria or the Metro East across the river from St. Louis does not see the same search results, delivery fees or ads as one in Chicago or Naperville. So an Illinois proxy is more than one checkbox. Residential IPs can be pinned to the state as a whole or to one of 548 named cities and towns. For the city itself, see our Chicago proxy page.
Home broadband networks in Illinois
The state target “Illinois” lists the national cable and fibre networks, plus regional fibre builders, rural telephone companies and fixed-wireless providers. In total, 51 home-network brands show up across Illinois:
Xfinity and AT&T carry most Chicago-area homes, with Astound as the third wireline choice in parts of the city and suburbs. Downstate, i3 Broadband and Consolidated Communications build fibre in central Illinois, and rural telephone companies serve smaller towns. Backbone, business-only and institution networks that appear in the API, such as Zayo, the Illinois Century Network and the City of Chicago, are left out of these counts.

Where Illinois coverage is thinner. Every city in the grid has residential IPs, but mobile IPs can be targeted in 33 Illinois cities, almost all of them Chicago and its suburbs, plus Springfield; Aurora, Joliet, Elgin, Rockford, Peoria and Champaign have no mobile target yet. Neighbourhoods such as Lincoln Park or Wicker Park in Chicago have no separate target either, so add ZIP targeting to go narrower. Many Illinois place names, including Springfield, Aurora, Bloomington and Decatur, exist in other states too, so always set the state to Illinois.
Illinois or US-wide: which should you pick?
Pin the state or a city only when the answer depends on it
Pin Illinois or an Illinois city
Rotating residential and rotating mobile.
- Local results: “near me” searches and map packs in Chicago, its suburbs or downstate cities
- Prices, fees and stock that change by city or ZIP code
- Checking an ad or offer aimed at Illinois or at one Illinois metro
Use US-wide targeting
All four products, including static and datacenter.
- National prices and rankings that are the same across the US
- The biggest possible IP pool for high-volume jobs
- Static residential and datacenter IPs
Static residential and datacenter proxies are sold at country level only, so they cannot be pinned to Illinois. A static residential IP comes from a random US city and stays yours for the month. If you need an Illinois address that stays the same, use a sticky session on rotating residential or mobile instead.

Local SERP & Maps tracking
Check Google rankings and map packs for queries like “pizza near me” from Chicago, Naperville and Springfield separately, instead of one national result.
Home & rental listings
Follow asking prices, rents and new listings on Zillow, Redfin and Realtor.com across the collar counties and downstate, with sensible request pacing.
Energy & insurance offers
Illinois households can choose an electricity supplier, and offers differ between the ComEd and Ameren areas. Check supplier, insurance and broadband quotes as a resident of each region sees them.
Grocery & delivery pricing
Compare prices, fees and availability on Jewel-Osco, Instacart and DoorDash, which change with the delivery address, from Chicago to the suburbs.
Events & ticketing
Watch availability and prices for games and concerts at Chicago venues on Ticketmaster and SeatGeek as they appear to a local visitor.
Ad verification & app QA
Confirm that campaigns geo-targeted at Illinois or one metro render there, and test apps on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon connections around Chicago.

Illinois proxy FAQ
Straight answers
What is an Illinois proxy server?
An Illinois proxy server routes your requests through an IP address located in Illinois, so websites treat you as a visitor in the state. With ProxyEmpire that IP belongs to a real home broadband line or mobile SIM rather than a data centre, which makes it far less likely to be blocked.
How do I get an Illinois IP address?
Choose rotating residential or rotating mobile, then set the country to the United States and the state to Illinois in the dashboard. Every connection then exits from an Illinois IP address. You can start with the $1.97 trial to test it.
Can I target a single Illinois city?
Yes. 548 Illinois cities and towns are separate targets, including Chicago, Aurora, Naperville, Joliet, Rockford, Peoria and Springfield. Neighbourhoods are not, so use the city target plus ZIP targeting to reach one.
Can I get a static IP in Illinois?
Not pinned to Illinois. Static residential and datacenter proxies are targeted by country only, so a static US IP can come from any state. To keep one Illinois IP for a long session, use a sticky session on rotating residential or mobile.
Can I keep the same Illinois IP?
Yes. Sticky sessions keep the same Illinois IP for as long as it stays available, instead of switching on every request. When you want a fresh IP, start a new session.
Which mobile carriers can I use in Illinois?
The Illinois mobile pool lists AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, plus Boost Mobile, in 33 cities. Add a carrier to your targeting, or leave it open and the pool picks one for you.
Is it legal to use a proxy in Illinois?
Using a proxy is legal in the United States. What matters is what you do with it: follow each website’s terms, and privacy laws such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act if you handle personal or biometric data.
