Guatemalan IPs from real homes and SIM cards
Guatemalan proxies on real home broadband in 8 of the country’s 22 departments, plus mobile IPs on the Claro network. Our Guatemala proxies reach Guatemala City, Quetzaltenango, Huehuetenango, Chichicastenango and more, across 10+ local ISPs. Start with a $1.97 trial, then pay as you go from 1 GB.
Priced per GB, not per IP: residential from $1.50/GB. Unused bandwidth rolls over.
Choose your Guatemala proxy type
Two ways to get a Guatemalan IP
Rotating residential
Our Guatemala residential proxy pool: home broadband IPs from Guatemala City and the western highlands to PetΓ©n and Izabal, on Claro, Tigo and smaller local cable and fibre networks. Best for retail and classifieds scraping, price monitoring and SERP tracking.
- Department, city, ZIP, ISP and ASN targeting
- New IP per request or sticky sessions
- OS fingerprint targeting (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android)
- Pay as you go from 1 GB
Rotating mobile
Guatemalan mobile proxy IPs on Claro, one of the country’s two national mobile networks. Best for social media, app testing and the strictest anti-bot systems.
- Department, city, ZIP, carrier and ASN targeting
- OS fingerprint targeting
- Rotate on demand or keep a sticky session
- Pay as you go from 1 GB
Need the same IP for weeks at a time? Static residential proxies are not offered in Guatemala, and neither are datacenter IPs. Use sticky sessions to hold the same Guatemalan IP on either proxy type above.
Guatemala at a glance
Why a local IP changes what you see
Search results, prices at Cemaco and Walmart, listings on Encuentra24 and the ads shown to Guatemalan users all depend on where a request comes from. A visitor in Guatemala City and one abroad can see different promotions, stock and delivery options on the same page. A Guatemala IP address shows you what local users see.
Guatemala is the most populous country in Central America, with coasts on both the Pacific and the Caribbean. The 2018 census, run by the Instituto Nacional de EstadΓstica (INE), counted 14,901,286 residents; INE’s projections, which correct for people the census missed, put the population at about 18.1 million in 2025. Guatemala department, home to the capital, alone had just over 3 million residents in the census, about one in five.
It is also a phone-first market. Most lines are prepaid, on two national mobile networks: Tigo and Claro. To a Guatemalan website, a phone or home connection is an ordinary visitor; data-centre traffic stands out quickly.
| Fact | Figure | Why it matters for proxy work |
|---|---|---|
| Population | 14,901,286 counted in the 2018 census; about 18.1 million projected for 2025 | The largest audience in Central America, where local and foreign visitors can see different versions of the same site. |
| Territory | 22 departments and 340 municipalities | Our region targeting follows the departments, so you can see a page as a visitor in Guatemala City, Quetzaltenango or Huehuetenango sees it. |
| Where people live | Guatemala department 3,015,081 (2018 census), then Alta Verapaz and Huehuetenango at about 1.2 million each | The capital area is the biggest single audience, but the highlands and the north are separate audiences, so test more than one location. |
| Currency | Quetzal (GTQ), issued by the Banco de Guatemala | Local shops quote prices in quetzales (Q), so a local IP shows the price list and promotions a Guatemalan shopper gets. |
| Language | Spanish (official); Mayan, GarΓfuna and Xinka languages are recognised by law | Most local sites default to Spanish, and search results in Spanish and English differ. |
| Mobile networks | Tigo and Claro, the two national networks | Our mobile pool runs on Claro; home IPs cover both operators’ fixed networks and local cable ISPs. |

What our Guatemala proxy coverage actually reaches
Read from the live API, not a brochure
Most providers list Guatemala as a single country checkbox. Here you can pin a session to a department, city and network, and we say plainly where the pool is thin.
8 of 22 departments
The residential API returns 8 of the country’s 22 departments, from Guatemala and the western highlands (Quetzaltenango, Huehuetenango, QuichΓ©) to PetΓ©n in the north, Izabal on the Caribbean and Chiquimula and Jalapa in the east. The other 14, including SacatepΓ©quez, Escuintla, San Marcos and Alta Verapaz, are not in the residential pool at the moment, so they cannot be targeted on their own; country-level sessions still draw on every Guatemalan IP we have.
7 targetable locations
Every location in the API is listed here. Six of the 8 departments have at least one city entry; Izabal and PetΓ©n can be targeted at department level only.
Mixco and Villa Nueva, the large municipalities next to the capital, are not separate targets: use Guatemala department instead. Guatemala City is one location, not split by zona.
Guatemalan mobile proxy carrier
Guatemala has two national mobile networks: Tigo and Claro (Movistar’s Guatemalan business became part of Claro in 2019). Our mobile pool currently covers Claro only: Tigo, the other network, is not in it, so it cannot be targeted. Mobile sessions can be narrowed to Guatemala, Quetzaltenango, Alta Verapaz or Escuintla department, and to Guatemala City; elsewhere, target the country.
Fixed-line ISPs
The national networks are covered: Claro and Tigo. So are local cable and fibre providers such as Navega, Cablecolor, Tecnocolor, Redes HΓbridas, TV Cable Universal, Nortvcom, Punto-Net and SuperWifi de Guatemala. More than 10 networks in total.
Why the long tail matters. Guatemalan homes connect through the two national telecoms and a long list of regional cable and fibre operators, several of which appear in our pool. IPs spread across the big operators and these smaller networks look like ordinary Guatemalan households; a pool on one provider is easy to spot.
What teams use Guatemalan proxies for
Common workloads on our Guatemala network
Retail & price monitoring
Track prices, promotions and stock at Cemaco, Walmart Guatemala, PriceSmart and Elektra exactly as Guatemalan shoppers see them, in quetzales.
SERP & local SEO tracking
Check Google rankings, map packs and ads as searchers in Guatemala City, Quetzaltenango or Huehuetenango see them, in Spanish or English, instead of one generic “Guatemala” location.
Social media & app testing
Run Guatemalan accounts, follow Spanish-language conversations and test apps from Claro mobile IPs, so sessions look like a local phone rather than a server.
Classifieds, property & car data
Collect listings from Encuentra24 to follow rents, house prices and used-car values by department, from the capital to Quetzaltenango.
News sites & ad verification
Confirm that campaigns aimed at Guatemala appear on Prensa Libre and other local news sites in the right cities, and see the ads on those pages as local readers do.
Localisation & checkout testing
Check that your own site shows quetzal prices, Guatemalan delivery options, Spanish content and the right payment methods to a visitor in Guatemala City.

Free Guatemala proxy lists vs paid Guatemalan proxies
Why free lists rarely work on Guatemalan sites
Free Guatemala proxy lists are easy to find, but most entries are open servers already abused by thousands of users. They go offline within hours and are blacklisted by the Guatemalan shops, banks and apps you want to reach. A cheap residential proxy trial costs less than the time lost on dead IPs.
| Free Guatemala proxy lists | ProxyEmpire Guatemalan proxies | |
|---|---|---|
| IP source | Open or hijacked servers, mostly data centres | Real Guatemalan homes and Claro SIM cards |
| Uptime | Minutes to hours before an IP disappears | Always-on pool, with rotating or sticky sessions |
| Blocks | Usually blacklisted on major Guatemalan sites | Looks like an ordinary local visitor |
| Targeting | Country at best | Department, city, ZIP, ISP, ASN and OS fingerprint |
| Privacy | Unknown operator can log or alter your traffic | Authenticated access over HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 |
| Cost | Free | From $1.50/GB, with a $1.97 trial |

Guatemala proxy FAQ
Straight answers
What is a Guatemalan proxy, and what makes it residential?
A Guatemalan proxy (GT proxy, or “proxy de Guatemala” in Spanish) is a Guatemala proxy server that gives you a Guatemala IP address, so websites treat you as a visitor from Guatemala. A Guatemala residential proxy (proxy residencial in Spanish) goes one step further: it routes your traffic through a real Guatemalan household’s connection, on a network like Claro, Tigo or a local cable operator, instead of a data centre. That makes it far less likely to be blocked.
Can I target specific Guatemalan departments, cities or ISPs?
Yes. You can target 8 of the 22 departments, 7 locations, and more than 10 local ISPs. ISP targeting lets you pin a rotating residential session to one named provider, such as Tigo or Cablecolor. Residential and mobile proxies can also be targeted by ZIP code, ASN and OS fingerprint. Departments outside the pool, such as SacatepΓ©quez or San Marcos, cannot be targeted on their own at the moment.
Do you offer Guatemala mobile proxies?
Yes, on Claro. Mobile IPs are shared by many real subscribers, so they are hard for websites to block. Tigo is not in our mobile pool at the moment. Mobile location targeting covers Guatemala, Quetzaltenango, Alta Verapaz and Escuintla departments, and Guatemala City.
How much do Guatemala proxies cost?
Rotating residential starts at $1.50/GB on larger plans and rotating mobile at $2.00/GB. Pay As You Go lets you buy a single GB of residential traffic for $3.50, with no subscription. Guatemalan targeting is included at no extra charge, and you can start with a $1.97 trial. Datacenter proxies are not offered in Guatemala.
Can I keep the same Guatemala IP address?
Yes. Rotating residential and mobile proxies both support sticky sessions, which keep the same Guatemalan IP across requests. Static residential IPs are not offered in Guatemala.
Will Guatemalan sites show me prices in quetzales?
Usually, yes. Local shops and marketplaces price in quetzales (Q), and some change promotions or delivery options depending on where the visitor appears to be. A Guatemalan IP shows you the version local shoppers get. Your ProxyEmpire plan itself is billed in US dollars.
Which protocols and tools are supported?
HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5. The proxies work with any scraper, headless browser, anti-detect browser or HTTP library, and there is no limit on concurrent sessions.
Why not use a free Guatemala proxy?
Free proxies are slow, blocked on most major sites, and often run by operators who log or resell your traffic. For anything work-related, a paid residential proxy is far more reliable.
Is using a proxy in Guatemala legal?
Proxies are a standard tool for price monitoring, SEO and ad verification. What matters is how you use them: respect websites’ terms of service, and handle any personal data you collect about people in Guatemala in line with the privacy rules that apply to you.
