Real Mauritanian IPs in 8 of 15 wilayas
Mauritanian proxies on real connections: residential IPs on Moov Mauritel and Rimatel home lines, plus mobile IPs on Mattel. Our Mauritania proxies give you a genuine Mauritania IP address in 8 of the country’s 15 wilayas, all three Nouakchott wilayas included, with rotating or sticky sessions. Start with a $1.97 trial, then pay as you go from 1 GB.
Priced per GB, not per IP: residential from $1.50/GB, mobile from $2.00/GB. Unused bandwidth rolls over.
Choose your Mauritania proxy type
Two ways to get a Mauritania IP address
Rotating residential
A Mauritania proxy server on real home connections: Moov Mauritel lines and Rimatel fixed wireless broadband, in six wilayas including Nouakchott-Ouest and Nouakchott-Sud. Best for classifieds scraping, price monitoring and SERP tracking.
- Region, city, ZIP, ISP and ASN targeting
- New IP per request or sticky sessions
- OS fingerprint targeting (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android)
- Pay as you go from 1 GB
Rotating mobile
Mauritania mobile proxy IPs on Mattel, one of the country’s three established mobile networks, in Nouakchott-Nord and Guidimakha. Best for social media, app testing and strict anti-bot systems.
- Region, city, ZIP, carrier and ASN targeting
- OS fingerprint targeting
- Rotate on demand or keep a sticky session
Need the same IP for weeks at a time? Static residential proxies are not offered in Mauritania; use a sticky session to hold the same Mauritanian IP on residential or mobile. Datacenter IPs are not available in Mauritania at the moment.
Mauritania at a glance
Why a local IP changes what you see
Search results, classified ads and telecom offers all depend on where a request comes from. A visitor in Nouakchott sees Arabic and French pages with prices in ouguiya; a foreign server often gets a generic version, or is blocked. A real Mauritanian home connection or Mattel phone looks like an ordinary local visitor.
| Fact | Figure | Why it matters for proxy work |
|---|---|---|
| Population | 4,927,532 (2023 census, final results); half the population is under 20 | A young, mobile-first audience that sites and advertisers segment by region and by language. |
| Capital | Nouakchott: 1,446,761 people across three wilayas, 29.4% of the population | All three Nouakchott wilayas are selectable: Ouest and Sud on residential, Nord on mobile. |
| Regions | 15 wilayas; the most populous is Nouakchott-Sud with 627,415 people | Our 8 selectable wilayas were home to 2,765,838 people, 56.1% of the population. |
| Currency | Mauritanian ouguiya (MRU) | Local shops, classifieds and operators quote prices in MRU, so collect them from the local version of a site. |
| Languages | Arabic is the official language; French is widely used in business | Many sites run in both, and French speakers often search for a “proxy Mauritanie”, so check both versions. |
| Mobile networks | Moov Mauritel, Mattel and Chinguitel | Our mobile pool is on Mattel; the other two networks are not in it. |
| Country code | MR (Mauritius is MU) | Set MR in your proxy settings; MU gives you IPs in Mauritius instead. |

What our Mauritania proxy coverage actually reaches
Read from the live API, not a brochure
Mauritania is a small market for proxy networks, so here is exactly what our Mauritanian proxies can target today, taken from the same API our dashboard uses.
8 selectable regions (wilayas)
Residential IPs can be pinned to six wilayas: Adrar, Assaba, Hodh El Gharbi, Inchiri, Nouakchott-Ouest and Nouakchott-Sud. Mobile IPs can be pinned to two: Nouakchott-Nord and Guidimakha. The other seven wilayas are not selectable today; a country-level session draws on the whole Mauritanian pool.
1 targetable city: Ayoun el Atrous
Ayoun el Atrous (AΓ―oun in the census tables, 36,517 residents in 2023) in Hodh El Gharbi is the only city the API returns, on residential. Nouakchott is targeted at wilaya level instead, through its three wilayas. Nouadhibou, Kiffa and other towns cannot be targeted by name, so test with the $1.97 trial if you need them.
Mauritania mobile proxy carriers
Our mobile pool in Mauritania is on one network: Mattel. To be plain about the gap, the two other established mobile operators, Moov Mauritel and Chinguitel, are not in the mobile pool. Mobile IPs can be targeted by carrier and by wilaya; the API lists no city for mobile.
Mauritanian fixed-line ISPs
Residential IPs come from two providers. Moov Mauritel, the long-established operator, sells fibre and 4G home internet alongside its mobile plans; the API ties it to Ayoun el Atrous. Rimatel provides fixed wireless broadband: an outdoor antenna unit linked to an indoor router at the customer’s home. The API gives no ISP detail for the other residential wilayas.
Honest counts, real addresses. One city, two home ISPs and one mobile network will not suit a job that needs city-level IPs across the whole country. They do cover all three Nouakchott wilayas, where 29.4% of Mauritanians live, and eight wilayas home to 56.1% of the population in the 2023 census.
What teams use Mauritanian proxies for
Common workloads on our Mauritanian network
Classifieds & property data
Collect listings from Voursa to follow used-car, phone and furniture prices, property and land for sale in Nouakchott neighbourhoods such as Tevragh Zeina, in MRU and exactly as local buyers see them.
Jobs & tenders
Monitor vacancies, calls for tender and expressions of interest on Beta Conseils (beta.mr), a Mauritanian recruitment and business news portal, from a local IP.
Local SEO & SERP tracking
Check Google rankings, local results and ads in Arabic and in French as a searcher in Nouakchott sees them, instead of one generic “Mauritania” location.
Telecom offers
Track data bundles, fibre and 4G box plans and promotions from Moov Mauritel, Mattel and Chinguitel as a customer in Nouakchott sees them, in MRU.
Ad verification on news sites
Confirm that campaigns aimed at Mauritania appear in the right placements, for example on news portals such as Cridem and Le Calame in French or Alakhbar in Arabic, and that landing pages display correctly in both languages.
Apps, social & browser profiles
Test mobile apps and manage social accounts from Mattel IPs, or give each anti-detect browser profile its own Mauritania IP address from a home connection, so manual checks look local.

Region, city, ZIP, ISP, ASN and OS fingerprint targeting cost nothing extra, and unused bandwidth rolls over.

Free Mauritania proxy lists vs paid Mauritanian proxies
Why free lists rarely work on Mauritanian sites
Search for a free proxy Mauritania list and you will find a handful of entries at best. Most are open servers shared by thousands of people, offline within hours, often not in Mauritania at all and blocked by the sites you want to reach. A $1.97 trial of real Mauritanian IPs costs less than the time lost on dead ones.
| Free Mauritania proxy lists | ProxyEmpire Mauritanian proxies | |
|---|---|---|
| IP source | Open or hijacked servers, mostly data centres | Real Mauritanian home connections and Mattel SIM cards |
| Uptime | Minutes to hours before an IP disappears | Always-on pool, with rotating or sticky sessions |
| Blocks | Usually blacklisted on major sites | Looks like an ordinary local visitor |
| Targeting | Country at best | Region, city, ZIP, ISP, ASN and OS fingerprint |
| Security | Unknown operator can log or alter your traffic | Authenticated access over HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 |
| Cost | Free | From $1.50/GB, with a $1.97 trial |

Mauritania proxy FAQ
Straight answers
What is a Mauritanian proxy (MR proxy)?
A Mauritanian proxy, or Mauritania proxy server, is a server that gives you a Mauritania IP address, so websites treat you as a visitor from Mauritania. A Mauritania residential proxy goes one step further: it routes your traffic through a real home internet connection in Mauritania instead of a data centre, which makes it far less likely to be blocked.
Looking for Mauritius?
Mauritius is a different country: an island nation in the Indian Ocean, country code MU. This page covers Mauritania (MR) in north-west Africa. For Mauritian IPs, see our Mauritius proxies page.
Where does a Mauritania IP address from ProxyEmpire come from?
From real Mauritanian connections: Moov Mauritel home lines, Rimatel fixed wireless broadband and Mattel SIM cards. They are not data-centre addresses registered to Mauritania, so websites see an ordinary local visitor.
Can I target specific cities or regions in Mauritania?
Yes, within today’s coverage: eight of the 15 wilayas (Adrar, Assaba, Hodh El Gharbi, Inchiri, Nouakchott-Ouest and Nouakchott-Sud on residential; Nouakchott-Nord and Guidimakha on mobile) and one city, Ayoun el Atrous, on residential. ISP, carrier, ZIP, ASN and OS fingerprint targeting cost nothing extra. Towns such as Nouadhibou or Kiffa are not available by name.
Do you offer Mauritania mobile proxies?
Yes, on Mattel. Moov Mauritel and Chinguitel are not in our mobile pool at the moment. Mobile IPs are shared by many real subscribers, so websites rarely block them.
Do you have Mauritanian datacenter or static IPs?
Not at the moment. Datacenter and static residential proxies are not offered with Mauritanian IPs. For a long-lived Mauritania IP, use a sticky session on residential or mobile.
How much do Mauritania proxies cost?
Rotating residential costs $3.50 for 1 GB on Pay As You Go and as little as $1.50/GB on larger plans; rotating mobile costs $4.50 for 1 GB, down to $2.00/GB. Plans are billed in US dollars, per GB rather than per IP, and Mauritanian targeting is included. You can start with a $1.97 trial.
Can I keep the same Mauritanian IP?
Yes. Rotating residential and mobile proxies both support sticky sessions, which hold the same Mauritanian IP across requests instead of switching on every request.
Which protocols do Mauritania proxies support?
HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5, with authenticated access, so they work in scrapers, browsers, anti-detect profiles and most automation tools. There is no concurrent session limit.
Is using a proxy in Mauritania legal?
Proxies are a standard tool for price monitoring, SEO and ad verification. What matters is how you use them: respect websites’ terms of service, and follow Mauritania’s personal data law (Law No. 2017-020 of 22 July 2017), overseen by the APD, whenever you collect personal data.
