A fixed Swiss residential IP that stays yours. Best for account management and long-running logins.

Switzerland at a glance

Why a local IP changes what you see

Google.ch results, prices at Digitec Galaxus and Interdiscount, listings on Ricardo, Tutti and Homegate and the ads shown to Swiss users all depend on where a request comes from. Many international brands run a separate Swiss shop with prices in francs, so a visitor with a German, French or Italian IP often lands in the wrong store, in euros.

Swiss sites also check the network type. Many big Swiss platforms sit behind strict bot protection that flags data centre traffic straight away, while a Swisscom, Sunrise or Salt connection looks like an ordinary Swiss customer, because it is one.

Fact Figure Why it matters for proxy work
Population 9.13 million (31 December 2025, provisional) A small, wealthy and highly connected market where a foreign IP stands out quickly.
Cantons 26 cantons Our region level is the canton, and 21 of the 26 can be targeted directly.
Main languages German 61%, French 23%, Italian 8%, Romansh 0.4% (2024; several answers possible) Many Swiss sites serve German, French and Italian versions. A Zurich IP, a Geneva IP and a Lugano IP can get different default languages, results and offers.
Currency Swiss franc (CHF) Switzerland does not use the euro, so only a Swiss IP reliably shows prices in francs.
VAT 8.1% standard rate, 2.6% reduced rate (food and some other goods) Swiss shelf prices include a much lower VAT than in the four neighbouring countries, so the same product is priced differently on each side of the border.
EU and Schengen Not an EU member; part of Schengen since 12 December 2008 A Swiss IP is not an EU IP. Services that switch content or terms by EU residence can treat Swiss visitors differently.
Mobile networks Swisscom 53.1%, Sunrise 23.6%, Salt 17.7%, others 5.5% (end of 2024) All three networks are in our mobile pool, together about 94% of the market.
Fixed broadband Swisscom about 47%, Sunrise 28%, Salt 6%, Quickline 4.5%, iWay 1.9%, Green 1% (end of 2024) All six are in our residential pool: close to nine in ten Swiss broadband connections.

Coverage is densest in the canton of Zurich (17 cities) and in Vaud and Geneva (19 between them). Biel/Bienne and the cantons of Bern, Fribourg and Valais are officially bilingual, handy for checking sites in both German and French.

Mobile carriers

  • Swisscom
  • Sunrise
  • Salt

Switzerland has three national mobile networks, and all three are covered: together they hold about 94% of the Swiss mobile market, and the smaller operators behind the remaining 5.5% use these same networks. Sunrise merged with UPC in 2020. Well-known brands belong to the same operators: Wingo by Swisscom, M-Budget Mobile on the Swisscom network, Yallo by Sunrise and GoMo by Salt.

Fixed-line ISPs

All six providers named in OFCOM’s broadband market shares are covered: Swisscom (including its Wingo brand), Sunrise, Salt, Quickline, iWay and Green, which together held about 88% of Swiss broadband connections at the end of 2024. Regional cable and utility networks follow: netplus in Romandy, WWZ in Zug, sasag in Schaffhausen, GGA Maur near Zurich, Ticinocom, LeuPuls in Frauenfeld, ImproWare in Pratteln and EW Buchs, plus Starlink satellite connections. Counting Wingo under Swisscom, that is 14 distinct Swiss networks.

Why network diversity matters. Anti-bot systems look at which network a request comes from. Swiss households are spread over a few national brands and a long tail of local cable and utility networks, and our pool mixes them the same way, so your requests blend in.

Free Switzerland proxy lists vs paid Swiss proxies

Why free lists rarely work on Swiss sites

Search for a free Swiss proxy, a proxy list for Switzerland or a Switzerland proxy site (a web proxy you open in the browser) and you will find plenty. Most entries are open data centre servers already abused by thousands of other users. They go offline within hours and are blacklisted by the Swiss sites you want to reach.

Free Switzerland proxy lists ProxyEmpire Swiss proxies
IP source Open or hijacked servers, mostly data centres Real Swiss homes and SIM cards on all three networks
Uptime Minutes to hours before an IP disappears Always-on pool, with rotating, sticky or static IPs

Targeting Country at best Canton, city, ZIP, ISP, ASN and OS fingerprint
Security Unknown operator can log or alter your traffic Authenticated access over HTTP(S) or SOCKS5
Cost Free From $1.50/GB, with a $1.97 trial

Swiss proxy FAQ

Straight answers

What is a Swiss proxy (Switzerland proxy)?

A Swiss proxy, also called a Switzerland proxy or CH proxy, gives you a Switzerland IP address so websites treat you as a local visitor. A Swiss residential proxy goes further: it routes your traffic through a real Swiss household’s connection on a network like Swisscom, Sunrise or Salt, not a data centre, so it is far less likely to be blocked.

Can I target specific Swiss cities, cantons or ISPs?

Yes: 21 of the 26 cantons and 81 cities, from Zurich, Basel and Bern to Lausanne, Geneva and Lugano, plus Swisscom, Sunrise, Salt, Quickline, iWay, Green and eight regional networks. Residential and mobile also include ZIP, ASN and OS fingerprint targeting; static residential is country-level. Uri, Obwalden, Nidwalden, Glarus and Appenzell Innerrhoden are not separate targets at the moment.

Do you offer Swiss mobile proxies?

Yes. Rotating mobile proxies run on all three Swiss networks: Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt. Mobile IPs are shared by many real subscribers, which makes them among the hardest traffic to block.

Do you sell static residential IPs in Switzerland?

Yes. You get a dedicated Swiss residential IP that stays the same all month, from $3.50 for one IP down to $2.00 per IP at 2,000 IPs, traffic included under a 100 GB fair-use cap.

Do you have Swiss datacenter proxies?

Not at the moment: our datacenter pool has no Swiss IPs. For Swiss targets, residential, mobile or static residential IPs work better anyway.

Can a Swiss proxy show German, French or Italian versions of Swiss sites?

Yes. A Schweizer Proxy, proxy suisse or proxy svizzero is the same thing: a Swiss IP. Many Swiss sites pick the language from your browser settings, some from your location. Set the browser language you need, and pick a Zurich, Geneva or Lugano IP when a site uses location to choose the language, the region or the offer.

How much do Swiss proxies cost?

Rotating residential starts at $1.50/GB on larger plans and rotating mobile at $2.00/GB. Static residential IPs cost $3.50 for a single IP and go down to $2.00 per IP a month at 2,000 IPs. Swiss targeting is included at no extra charge, and you can start with a $1.97 trial.

Can I keep the same Swiss IP?

Yes. Rotating residential and mobile proxies both support sticky sessions, which hold the same Swiss IP across requests instead of switching on every request. For a permanently fixed Swiss IP, use static residential.

Which protocols and tools are supported?

HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5. The proxies work with any scraper, headless browser, anti-detect browser or HTTP library, and there is no limit on concurrent sessions.

Is there a free Swiss proxy list or Switzerland proxy site that works?

For a quick look at a public page, a free web proxy site may be enough. For anything regular, free Swiss proxy lists are unreliable: entries go offline within hours, many are not in Switzerland at all, major Swiss sites block them, and an unknown operator can log or resell your traffic. If you are not paying for the product, your data usually is the product.

Is using a proxy legal in Switzerland?

Proxies themselves are legal in Switzerland. What matters is how you use them: respect each site’s terms of service, and follow the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), in force in its revised form since 1 September 2023, and the GDPR where it applies, when you collect personal data.
