Three ways to get a Hungarian IP
Rotating residential
Home broadband IPs across Hungary, from Budapest to the eastern county towns. Best for scraping, price monitoring and SERP tracking.
- Region, city, ZIP, ISP and ASN targeting
- New IP per request or sticky sessions
- OS fingerprint targeting (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android)
Rotating mobile
Mobile IPs on Magyar Telekom, Yettel and Netfone. Best for social media and the strictest anti-bot systems.
- Region, city, ZIP, carrier and ASN targeting
- OS fingerprint targeting
- Rotate on demand or keep a sticky session
Rotating datacenter
Fast, low-cost Hungarian datacenter IPs. Best for high-volume jobs on sites with light bot protection.
- Hungary country-level targeting
- New IP per request or sticky sessions
- Lowest cost per GB for bulk traffic
- Plans from 40 GB for $25
Need the same IP for weeks at a time? Static residential proxies are not offered in Hungary. The nearest static location is Romania, or use sticky sessions to hold the same Hungarian IP on any of the three proxy types above.
Hungary at a glance
Why a local IP changes what you see
Hungary is a mid-sized market with a web of its own. Search results on Google.hu, prices on รrukeresล, eMAG.hu and Alza.hu, and the ads served to Hungarian users all depend on where the request comes from. An Austrian or Slovak IP gets a different page, in a different language and in euros rather than forints.
Two local details widen that gap. Hungary kept the forint instead of adopting the euro, and its 27% standard VAT rate is the highest in the EU, so a price in Budapest and the same product in Vienna are not comparable until you see the Hungarian page as a Hungarian visitor sees it.
Hungarian sites also check what kind of network a visitor is on. On well-protected sites, traffic from a data centre gets flagged as a bot straight away. Traffic from a Magyar Telekom or Digi home connection looks like an ordinary Hungarian customer, because that is what it is.
| Fact | Figure | Why it matters for proxy work |
|---|---|---|
| Population | 9.49 million (1 January 2026) | A compact pool, so precise city and ISP targeting matters more than raw volume. |
| Capital | Budapest, 1.68 million residents | About one in six Hungarians live in the capital, so Budapest results differ from Debrecen or Pรฉcs. |
| Currency | Forint (HUF), not the euro | Local prices move independently of the euro area, so they have to be read on the Hungarian version of a site. |
| VAT | 27% standard rate | The highest standard VAT rate in the EU, so gross prices shown to Hungarian visitors differ sharply from Austrian or Slovak ones. |
| Language & script | Hungarian, Latin script | Hungarian is unrelated to any neighbouring language, so local SERPs and feeds only make sense from a Hungarian IP and locale. |
| Mobile networks | Magyar Telekom, Yettel, One | We reach Magyar Telekom and Yettel directly, plus Netfone, which runs on the One network. |
| EU and Schengen | EU since 2004, Schengen since 2007 | GDPR applies, and EU geo-restricted content treats Hungarian IPs as fully European. |

What our Hungary coverage actually reaches
Read from the live API, not a brochure
Most providers list Hungary as a single country checkbox. Here you can pin a session to the county, city and network your target cares about. This is the targeting available on the ProxyEmpire network today, pulled from the same API our dashboard uses.
All 19 counties and Budapest
88 targetable cities and towns
Coverage goes well beyond Budapest. County seats, industrial towns, suburbs and Lake Balaton resorts can each be targeted on their own:
Spa and lake towns such as Hรฉvรญz, Harkรกny, Siรณfok and Fonyรณd can each be targeted separately. That matters for hotel and travel price checks, where a visitor at Lake Balaton often sees different offers from someone in Budapest.
Mobile carriers
Hungary has three mobile network operators: Magyar Telekom, Yettel and One. Our mobile pool reaches Magyar Telekom and Yettel directly, plus Netfone, which runs on the One network rather than its own.
Fixed-line ISPs
The big national networks are covered โ Magyar Telekom, Digi and One (the two merged into one group in 2025) and Yettel โ together with regional cable and fibre providers including Vidanet, Tarr, ZNET Telekom, Netsurf, Flashnet, Elektronet, Kรกbelszatnet, Naracom and Kapulan. KIFร, the government and research network, and Starlink satellite connections also appear in the pool, which gives more than 12 separate networks in total.
Why the network mix matters. Anti-bot systems look at which network a request comes from, and a pool built on one or two big providers is easy to spot. Having IPs on regional networks too โ a cable company in the east, a fibre provider in Tolna โ is what makes your traffic look like ordinary Hungarian households.
What teams use Hungarian proxies for
Common workloads on our Hungarian network
E-commerce price monitoring
Track prices, stock and delivery fees on รrukeresล, eMAG.hu and Alza.hu exactly as Hungarian shoppers see them, in forints and with 27% VAT included.
Local SEO & SERP tracking
Check Google.hu rankings, map packs and ads from Budapest, Debrecen or Szeged instead of a generic EU location.
Property & classifieds data
Collect listings from Ingatlan.com, Hasznรกltautรณ.hu and Jรณfogรกs to follow rents, house prices and used-car values county by county.
Ad verification
Confirm that campaigns targeted at Hungary actually render, in Hungarian, on the placements you paid for, and catch fraudulent ones before they burn budget.
Social media management
Run Hungarian accounts from mobile IPs on Magyar Telekom, Yettel or Netfone, so logins look like a local phone rather than a server.
Travel & spa pricing
Compare hotel, spa and thermal-bath prices shown to visitors in Hรฉvรญz, Siรณfok or Harkรกny against those shown in Budapest or abroad.

Free Hungary proxy lists vs paid Hungarian proxies
Why free lists rarely work on Hungarian sites
Free Hungary proxy lists are easy to find, but most entries are open servers already scanned and abused by thousands of other users. They go offline within hours and are blacklisted by the Hungarian sites you want to reach.
| Free Hungary proxy lists | ProxyEmpire Hungarian proxies | |
|---|---|---|
| IP source | Open or hijacked servers, mostly data centres | Real Hungarian homes and Magyar Telekom, Yettel and Netfone SIM cards |
| Uptime | Minutes to hours before an IP disappears | Always-on pool, with rotating or sticky sessions |
| Blocks | Usually blacklisted on major Hungarian sites | Looks like an ordinary local visitor |
| Targeting | Country at best | Region, city, ZIP, ISP, ASN and OS fingerprint |
| Security | Unknown operator can log or alter your traffic | Authenticated access over HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 |
| Cost | Free | From $1.50/GB, with a $1.97 trial |

Hungary proxy FAQ
Straight answers
What is a Hungarian proxy (HU proxy)?
A Hungarian proxy, or HU proxy, gives you a Hungarian IP address so websites treat you as a local visitor. A Hungary residential proxy goes one step further: it routes your traffic through a real Hungarian household’s internet connection, so websites see a genuine local visitor on a network like Magyar Telekom or Digi instead of a data centre. That makes it far less likely to be blocked or shown non-local content.
Can I target specific Hungarian counties, cities or ISPs?
Yes. You can target Budapest and all 19 Hungarian counties, 88 cities and towns, and more than 12 local ISPs, including Magyar Telekom, Digi, One and Yettel as well as regional cable and fibre networks. Residential and mobile proxies can also be targeted by ZIP code, ASN and OS fingerprint. Datacenter proxies are targeted at country level.
Do you offer Hungarian mobile proxies?
Yes. Rotating mobile proxies are available on three Hungarian carriers: Magyar Telekom, Yettel and Netfone, which runs on the One network. Mobile IPs are shared by many real subscribers, which makes them among the hardest IPs for websites to block.
How much do Hungary proxies cost?
Rotating residential starts at $1.50/GB on larger plans, rotating mobile at $2.00/GB and rotating datacenter at $0.35/GB. Hungarian targeting is included at no extra charge, and you can start with a $1.97 trial.
Do you have Hungarian datacenter proxies?
Yes. Rotating datacenter proxies with Hungarian IPs start at $25 for 40 GB and go down to $0.35/GB on larger plans. They are targeted at country level and suit high-volume work on sites with light bot protection. For well-protected sites, use residential or mobile IPs instead.
Can I keep the same Hungarian IP?
Yes. Rotating residential, mobile and datacenter proxies all support sticky sessions, which keep the same Hungarian IP across requests instead of switching to a new IP on every request. Static residential IPs are not offered in Hungary; if you need a permanently fixed IP in the region, our nearest static location is Romania.
Which protocols and tools are supported?
HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5. The proxies work with any scraper, headless browser, anti-detect browser or HTTP library, and there is no limit on concurrent sessions.
What support do I get?
Real people, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Support is staffed around the clock rather than left to bots or a business-hours ticket queue, so if a Hungarian target starts behaving oddly at two in the morning, someone will check the pool with you.
Why not use a free Hungary proxy?
Free proxies are slow, blocked on most major sites, and often run by operators who log or resell your traffic. If you are not paying for the product, your data usually is the product. For anything work-related, a paid residential proxy is safer and far more reliable.
Is using a proxy legal in Hungary?
Proxies themselves are legal in Hungary and across the EU. What matters is how you use them: respect websites’ terms of service and GDPR when collecting personal data.
