Tanzanian IPs from real homes and SIM cards

Choose your Tanzania proxy type
Two ways to get a Tanzanian IP
Rotating residential
A Tanzania residential proxy routes you through real home connections in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Arusha, Dodoma and 12 more regions, so each Tanzania proxy server looks like a local household. Best for scraping, price monitoring and SERP tracking.
- Region, city, ZIP, ISP and ASN targeting
- New IP per request or sticky sessions
- OS fingerprint targeting (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android)
- Pay as you go from 1 GB
Rotating mobile
Tanzania mobile proxy IPs on Vodacom, Yas, Airtel, Halotel and TTCL, all five Tanzanian mobile networks. Best for social media, app testing and the strictest anti-bot systems.
- Region, city, ZIP, carrier and ASN targeting
- OS fingerprint targeting
- Rotate on demand or keep a sticky session
Need the same IP for weeks at a time? Static residential proxies are not offered in Tanzania, and neither are datacenter proxies. To hold one Tanzanian IP, use a sticky session on residential or mobile.
Tanzania at a glance
Why a local IP changes what you see
Tanzanian websites show Tanzanian visitors a different internet. Search results on Google.co.tz, prices in shillings on Jiji and Kupatana, bus and flight fares, and the ads served on Tanzanian news sites all depend on where a request comes from. A foreign server often gets an international version instead.
Location inside Tanzania matters too. Stock, delivery charges and rents differ between Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Arusha and Zanzibar, and local sites run in Kiswahili, English or both: Mwananchi publishes in Kiswahili, The Citizen in English. Picking the region, city and language is what makes the data comparable.
Tanzania is also a phone-first market. Protected Tanzanian sites expect traffic from Vodacom, Yas or Airtel phones and flag data-centre IPs quickly, while a phone or home router on a local network looks like an ordinary Tanzanian customer, because it is one.
| Fact | Figure | Why it matters for proxy work |
|---|---|---|
| Population | 61.7 million (2022 census): 59.9 million on the Mainland, 1.9 million in Zanzibar; Dar es Salaam region 5.4 million | The 16 regions you can target are home to 64.8% of Tanzanians, including the five most populous. |
| Administrative units | 31 regions: 26 on the Mainland and 5 in Zanzibar | Our region targeting follows these 31 regions: 16 are selectable today, 14 on the Mainland and 2 in Zanzibar. |
| Currency | Tanzanian shilling (TZS), issued by the Bank of Tanzania | Tanzanian shops and classifieds show prices in shillings, so they have to be read on the local version of a site. |
| Mobile networks | Vodacom 38.6 m, Yas 33.4 m, Airtel 24.0 m, Halotel 19.2 m, TTCL 1.8 m subscriptions (June 2026) | All five networks are in our mobile pool, so you can pick the carrier your target audience actually uses. |
| Internet | 62.8 million internet subscriptions, 62.2 million of them mobile; about 590,000 fixed (June 2026) | More than 99% of internet subscriptions are mobile, so mobile IPs are ordinary traffic on Tanzanian sites and apps. |
| Mobile money | 87.05 million mobile money accounts (June 2026) | Tanzanian sign-up and checkout flows are built around phone numbers, so test them from a Tanzanian mobile IP. |

What our Tanzania coverage actually reaches
Read from the live API, not a brochure
Run a proxy Tanzania-wide or pin a session to the region, city and network your target cares about. Everything below comes from the same API our dashboard uses.
16 of Tanzania’s 31 regions
Region targeting in Tanzania follows the 31 regions used by the National Bureau of Statistics. Fourteen Mainland regions are selectable, including Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Tabora, Morogoro and Dodoma, plus two of Zanzibar’s five: Mjini Magharibi, which includes Zanzibar City, and Kaskazini Pemba. The other 15, among them Geita, Kigoma, Mtwara and Iringa, are not selectable as regions today; a country-level session draws on the whole Tanzanian pool.
11 cities and towns
Every city the API returns for Tanzania, from the commercial capital to the Lake Victoria shore and the coast. Each can be targeted on its own:
Tanzania mobile proxy carriers
Our mobile pool covers Vodacom Tanzania, Yas, Airtel Tanzania, Halotel and TTCL: all five operators in the regulator’s June 2026 subscription figures, so no major Tanzanian network is missing. Yas is the network called Tigo until its November 2024 rebrand. It is run by MIC Tanzania, the company that also took in Zantel, and our API lists it under that company name.
Tanzanian home and business ISPs
Residential IPs come from the home and business internet services of Vodacom, Yas, Airtel, Halotel and TTCL, from Zuku (Wananchi Cable Tanzania), and from fibre and wireless providers such as SimbaNET, Habari, SimplyConnect, FlashNet, Aptus and Maisha Broadband: 12 local networks in all.
Why the long tail matters. Fixed lines are rare in Tanzania, and most people go online over a mobile network. A pool that mixes the five mobile operators with smaller home and business ISPs looks like ordinary Tanzanian households, not one easy-to-spot provider.
What teams use Tanzanian proxies for
Common workloads on our Tanzanian network
Classifieds & price monitoring
Track asking prices for phones, cars and electronics on Jiji and Kupatana exactly as Tanzanian buyers see them, in shillings and region by region.
Local SEO & SERP tracking
Check Google.co.tz rankings, map packs and ads from Dar es Salaam, Mwanza or Arusha, in Kiswahili or English, not from one generic location.
Travel & transport fares
Follow fares on Air Tanzania and Precision Air, bus tickets on Otapp and ferry prices between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar on Azam Marine, as local travellers see them.
Jobs & ride-hailing data
Follow hiring demand on BrighterMonday Tanzania and ride prices on Bolt in Dar es Salaam, as Tanzanian job seekers and riders see them.
Ad verification & localisation
Confirm that campaigns aimed at Tanzania run on the placements you paid for, on news sites such as Mwananchi and The Citizen, and that Kiswahili and English landing pages display correctly.
Social media & app testing
Run Tanzanian accounts and test apps from mobile IPs on Vodacom, Yas or Airtel, so sessions look like a local phone rather than a server.
Buy Tanzania proxies: pricing
How much does a Tanzania proxy cost? All prices in US dollars
Proxy prices in Tanzania are the same as in every other country and are charged in US dollars per GB of traffic, not per IP. A Tanzania residential proxy costs $3.50 for 1 GB on Pay As You Go and falls to $1.50/GB on the 1,000 GB plan. Mobile starts at $4.50 for 1 GB and goes down to $2.00/GB. You can test the network first with a $1.97 trial.
As a rough guide, 1 GB covers around 500 full page loads of 2 MB each, or several thousand lighter requests if your scraper skips images and video. Region, city, ZIP, ISP, ASN and OS fingerprint targeting cost nothing extra, SOCKS5 is included, and unused bandwidth rolls over.
| Plan | Data | Price per GB | Total | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pay As You Go | 1 GB | $3.50 | Buy | |
| Starter | 7 GB | $20 | Buy | |
| Hobby | 28 GB | $75 | Buy | |
| Startup | 60 GB | $150 | Buy | |

Free Tanzania proxy lists vs paid Tanzanian proxies
Why a free proxy for Tanzania rarely works
A free Tanzania proxy list is easy to find, but most entries are open servers already abused by thousands of users. They go offline within hours and are blacklisted by the Tanzanian shops, classifieds and apps you want to reach.
| Free Tanzania proxy lists | ProxyEmpire Tanzanian proxies | |
|---|---|---|
| IP source | Open or hijacked servers, mostly data centres | Real Tanzanian homes and Vodacom, Yas, Airtel, Halotel and TTCL SIM cards |
| Uptime | Minutes to hours before an IP disappears | Always-on pool, with rotating or sticky sessions |
| Blocks | Usually blacklisted on major Tanzanian sites | Looks like an ordinary local visitor |
| Targeting | Country at best | Region, city, ZIP, ISP, ASN and OS fingerprint |
| Security | Unknown operator can log or alter your traffic | Authenticated access over HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 |
| Cost | Free | From $1.50/GB, with a $1.97 trial |

Tanzania proxy FAQ
Straight answers
What is a Tanzania proxy server (TZ proxy)?
A Tanzanian proxy server gives you a Tanzania IP address, so websites treat you as a visitor from Tanzania. A Tanzania residential proxy goes one step further: it routes your traffic through a real Tanzanian household’s connection, on a network like Vodacom, Zuku or SimbaNET, instead of a data centre, so it is far less likely to be blocked.
How much does a Tanzania proxy cost?
A residential proxy for Tanzania costs $3.50 for 1 GB on Pay As You Go and as little as $1.50/GB on the 1,000 GB plan. Mobile proxies cost $4.50 for 1 GB, down to $2.00/GB. Prices are per GB rather than per IP, the same worldwide, and a $1.97 trial lets you test first.
Can I buy Tanzania proxies in shillings?
Plans are priced and billed in US dollars; there is no shilling price list. You can pay by debit or credit card or PayPal through our payment partner Paddle, by bank transfer in US dollars through Paddle, with cryptocurrency, or by direct bank transfer in US dollars or euros arranged with our sales team (see payment methods). If your card is in shillings, your card issuer converts the dollar amount at its own rate.
Can I target specific Tanzanian regions, cities or ISPs?
Yes. You can target 16 of the 31 regions, including Dar es Salaam, Mwanza and Arusha, 11 cities from Dar es Salaam and Dodoma to Zanzibar and Kahama, and 12 Tanzanian ISPs. Residential and mobile proxies can also be targeted by ZIP code, ASN and OS fingerprint, at no extra charge.
Do you offer Tanzanian mobile proxies?
Yes, on Vodacom, Yas (formerly Tigo), Airtel, Halotel and TTCL, all five mobile networks in Tanzania. Mobile IPs are shared by many real subscribers, which makes them among the hardest IPs for websites to block.
Do you offer static residential or datacenter proxies in Tanzania?
Not at the moment. Static residential and datacenter IPs are not available in Tanzania. To keep one Tanzanian IP, use a sticky session.
Can I keep the same Tanzanian IP?
Yes. Rotating residential and mobile proxies both support sticky sessions, which keep the same Tanzanian IP across requests instead of switching on every request.
Which protocols and tools are supported?
HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5, at the same price. Every Tanzania proxy works with any scraper, headless or anti-detect browser and HTTP library, with no limit on concurrent sessions.
Why not use a free Tanzania proxy?
Free proxies are slow, blocked on most major sites and often run by operators who log or resell your traffic. For work, a paid residential proxy is safer and far more reliable.
Is using a proxy in Tanzania legal?
Proxies are a standard tool for price monitoring, SEO and ad verification. What matters is how you use them: respect websites’ terms of service, and follow Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 whenever you collect personal data.
