Icelandic IPs from real homes and SIM cards
Icelandic proxies on real home fibre from Síminn, Nova, Sýn and Hringdu, and on the Nova and Sýn mobile networks. Point our Iceland proxies at Reykjavík, Kópavogur, Hafnarfjörður or Akureyri, or at 6 of Iceland’s 8 regions, with rotating or sticky sessions.
Pay per GB, not per IP. Unused bandwidth rolls over.
Choose your Iceland proxy type
Two ways to get an Icelandic IP address
Rotating residential
An Iceland residential proxy server on real home fibre, from Reykjavík and Hafnarfjörður to Akureyri and Egilsstaðir. Best for scraping, price monitoring and SERP tracking.
- Region, city, ZIP, ISP and ASN targeting
- New IP per request or sticky sessions
- OS fingerprint targeting (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android)
Rotating mobile
Icelandic mobile IPs on Nova and Sýn, plus IPs on Míla’s network. Best for social media, app testing and the strictest anti-bot systems.
- Carrier and ASN targeting
- Capital Region and Reykjavík targeting
- Rotate on demand or keep a sticky session
Need the same IP for weeks at a time? Static residential proxies are not offered in Iceland. The nearest static location is the United Kingdom, with IPs located in the UK rather than in Iceland, or use sticky sessions to hold the same Icelandic IP on residential or mobile. Datacenter IPs are not available in Iceland either.
Iceland at a glance
Why a local IP changes what you see
Google.is results, prices at ELKO and Heimkaup, listings on Bland.is and the ads shown to Icelandic users all depend on where a request comes from. Iceland is not in the EU and has its own currency, the króna, so international shops and booking sites often show Icelandic visitors different prices and delivery terms.
Icelandic sites also check the network type. Data centre traffic is flagged as a bot straight away on well-protected sites, while a Síminn, Nova or Sýn home connection looks like an ordinary Icelandic customer, because it is one.
| Fact | Figure | Why it matters for proxy work |
|---|---|---|
| Population | 396,500 (end of June 2026) | A small, highly connected market where a foreign IP stands out quickly. |
| Capital Region | 253,230 people, about 64% of the population | Most Icelandic traffic comes from greater Reykjavík, and four of our eight target cities are there. |
| Regions | 8 regions (landshlutar) | Our region level follows these regions, and 6 of the 8 can be targeted directly. |
| Currency | Icelandic króna (ISK) | Iceland does not use the euro. An Icelandic IP shows the króna prices locals get, not a euro or dollar version of the site. |
| VAT | 24% standard rate, 11% reduced rate (food, books, hotels) | Icelandic shelf prices include VAT at Icelandic rates, so they move separately from prices in other Nordic markets. |
| Language | Icelandic, the official language under Act No. 61/2011 | Most local sites are in Icelandic first, so SERP and ad checks need Icelandic results, not an English fallback. |
| EU status | Not an EU member; in the EEA since 1 January 1994 and in Schengen since 25 March 2001 | Many EU rules apply through the EEA, but Icelandic storefronts, prices, customs and delivery terms differ from EU ones. |
| Mobile networks | Three national networks: Síminn, Nova and Sýn (the Vodafone brand until June 2025) | Nova and Sýn are in our mobile pool, along with IPs on Míla’s network. Síminn is not listed as a separate mobile carrier. |

What our Iceland residential proxy coverage actually reaches
Read from the live API, not a brochure
Many providers list Iceland as a single checkbox, if at all. Here you can run proxies Iceland-wide or pin a session to a region, town or network, using the same API our dashboard uses.
6 of Iceland’s 8 regions
The region level for Iceland is the region (landshluti). Six of the eight can be targeted directly: the Capital Region around Reykjavík, the Southern Peninsula (Suðurnes, home to Keflavík airport), the South, the East, the Northeast and the Northwest. West Iceland and the Westfjords are not separate targets at the moment, although a country-level session can still land on any Icelandic IP in the pool.
8 targetable cities
Four of the eight are in the Capital Region: Reykjavík, Kópavogur, Hafnarfjörður and Garðabær, where most Icelanders live. Outside it, you can target Reykjanesbær on the Southern Peninsula, Akureyri, the largest town in the north, Egilsstaðir in the East and Vestmannaeyjar, the Westman Islands off the south coast. The Northwest can be targeted as a region, but has no separate town target.
Mobile carriers
Iceland has three national mobile networks: Síminn, Nova and Sýn, which traded as Vodafone until June 2025. Our mobile pool has IPs on Nova and Sýn, plus IPs registered to Míla, the country’s largest wholesale network operator, whose infrastructure carries traffic for other operators. Síminn is not listed as a separate mobile carrier in our pool at the moment. Mobile IPs can be targeted by carrier across the country, and by region and city in the Capital Region and Reykjavík. Elsewhere in Iceland, mobile targeting is at country level.
Fixed-line ISPs
The residential pool covers the main Icelandic broadband brands: Síminn on its fibre service, Nova, Sýn (formerly Vodafone Iceland) and Hringdu. It also includes IPs registered to Míla, the national wholesale network that many retail providers rent. Counted once each, that is 5 distinct Icelandic networks, all on the same account and with the same ISP targeting.
Why network diversity matters. Anti-bot systems look at which network a request comes from. Real Icelandic households spread across a handful of national brands, and our pool mixes them the same way, so your requests blend in. Iceland is a small market, so fewer Icelandic IPs are online at once than in a large country. The pool is well suited to price checks, SERP tracking and account work; for very large crawls, pace your requests or add the UK or Norway for volume.
What teams use Icelandic proxies for
Common workloads on our Iceland network
E-commerce price monitoring
Track prices, stock and delivery fees at ELKO, Heimkaup, Tölvulistinn, BYKO and Húsasmiðjan exactly as Icelandic shoppers see them, in krónur with Icelandic VAT.
Grocery price tracking
Follow basket prices and weekly offers at Krónan, Bónus, Nettó and Hagkaup from an Icelandic home connection, week by week and store by store.
Local SEO & SERP tracking
Check Google.is rankings, map packs and ads from Reykjavík, Akureyri or Egilsstaðir, and see how your business shows up on Já.is, instead of a generic European location.
Travel & tour pricing
Compare flight, hotel and car rental prices on Dohop, and tour prices on Guide to Iceland, as they appear to Icelandic visitors rather than to foreign tourists.
Marketplaces, property & jobs
Monitor second-hand listings on Bland.is, used cars on Bílasölur.is, homes on Fasteignir.is, rentals on Igloo and job ads on Alfreð at scale without CAPTCHAs skewing the sample.
Social media & ad verification
Run Icelandic accounts from Nova or Sýn mobile IPs, and confirm Icelandic campaigns run on the placements you paid for, from Vísir to local social feeds.

Free Iceland proxy lists vs paid Icelandic proxies
Why free lists rarely work on Icelandic sites
Search for free proxies in Iceland or an Iceland proxy server list and you will find a few, but most entries are open servers already scanned and abused by thousands of other users. They go offline within hours and are blacklisted by the Icelandic sites you want to reach.
| Free Iceland proxy lists | ProxyEmpire Icelandic proxies | |
|---|---|---|
| IP source | Open or hijacked servers, mostly data centres | Real Icelandic homes and Nova or Sýn SIM cards |
| Uptime | Minutes to hours before an IP disappears | Always-on pool, with rotating or sticky sessions |
| Blocks | Usually blacklisted on major Icelandic sites | Looks like an ordinary local visitor |
| Targeting | Country at best | Region, city, ZIP, ISP, ASN and OS fingerprint |
| Security | Unknown operator can log or alter your traffic | Authenticated access over HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 |
| Cost | Free | From $1.50/GB, with a $1.97 trial |

Iceland proxy FAQ
Straight answers
What is an Icelandic proxy (Iceland proxy)?
An Icelandic proxy, or Iceland proxy server, gives you an Iceland IP address so websites treat you as a local visitor. An Iceland residential proxy goes further: it routes your traffic through a real Icelandic household’s connection on a network like Síminn, Nova or Sýn, not a data centre, so it is far less likely to be blocked.
Can I target specific Icelandic cities, regions or ISPs?
Yes. Residential proxies can target 6 of Iceland’s 8 regions and 8 cities: Reykjavík, Kópavogur, Hafnarfjörður, Garðabær, Reykjanesbær, Akureyri, Egilsstaðir and Vestmannaeyjar. ISP targeting covers Síminn, Nova, Sýn, Hringdu and Míla. Residential proxies can also be targeted by ZIP, ASN and OS fingerprint. West Iceland and the Westfjords are not separate targets yet.
Do you offer Icelandic mobile proxies?
Yes, on Nova and Sýn, plus IPs on Míla’s network. Síminn is not listed as a separate mobile carrier at the moment. Mobile IPs can be targeted by carrier nationwide, and by region and city in the Capital Region and Reykjavík. They are shared by many real subscribers, which makes them among the hardest traffic to block.
Do you have Iceland datacenter or static IPs?
Not at the moment. Datacenter and static residential proxies are not offered with Icelandic IPs. For a long-lived Icelandic IP, use a sticky session on residential or mobile. If a fixed IP nearby works for you, static residential IPs are sold in the United Kingdom.
How much do Iceland proxies cost?
Rotating residential starts at $1.50/GB on larger plans and rotating mobile at $2.00/GB. Icelandic targeting is included at no extra charge, and you can start with a $1.97 trial.
Can I keep the same Iceland IP address?
Yes. Rotating residential and mobile proxies both support sticky sessions, which keep the same Iceland IP address active across requests instead of switching on every request.
Which protocols and tools are supported?
HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5. The proxies work with any scraper, headless browser, anti-detect browser or HTTP library, and there is no limit on concurrent sessions.
Why not use a free Iceland proxy?
Free proxies are slow, blocked on most major sites, and often run by operators who log or resell your traffic. If you are not paying for the product, your data usually is the product. For anything work-related, a paid residential proxy is safer and far more reliable.
Is using a proxy legal in Iceland?
Proxies themselves are legal in Iceland. What matters is how you use them: respect each site’s terms of service, and follow the GDPR, which applies in Iceland through the EEA and the Data Protection Act (No. 90/2018), when you collect personal data.
